Speed wise I'd have to think Stanley is faster in the 40 by a hair or two.  4.26 is pretty ridiculous.  In the 100 meter on a track, I'd take Garcon.
I would think Stanley has a better shot to play football at the next level, I think his overall athleticism is a little better.
What events did Garcon do in track besides the 100?

Garcon is 6'1" and 205 as a Junior.  Stanley is 5'11" 183 as a Senior.  (From each school's official roster).

I think Garcon is a bigger playmaker and probably has a better shot to play at the next level.  Did you see him in the Stagg bowl last year?

Garcon runs the 4X400 as well as the 200 I think.  He ran 10.65 in the 100 and 21.83 in the 200 at the OAC Championships last year.

Um, you think that stanley is a better athlete.  Not to sure about that.  But i am pretty sure that the "Next level" wouldnt even consider a kid from a D-III school who is 5'11'' and 183.  You have to be an absolute stud at the D-III level and i really didnt see stanley as a stud.  Granted i havent seen stanley play to much, but pierre's athleticism is second to none on the D-III level.

kirasdad, did I read correctly, Mount Union has won 15 OAC championships in a row.  Incredible!! Is anyone close to challenging them?

70's

you goin to new philly to watch mogadore play in state semi's

Not sure I can stand to be on the sidelines tonight with the other non-football coaches. I'll try to sit with my wife but will probably end up in the booth with the film crew. I really wish Raider66 was still around for this one. He loved our football teams. This should be smashmouth football at it's finest. Talk about your origins of football, two little towns of less than 4,000 out to watch their kids fight it out in the state semi's.
I hope Mogadore has a great game and sends the other team packing.  You know Raider66 will be there hovering over every play!!  Squint your eyes and you will see him.  He'll also be in the fight the kids have in their hearts.  Just my 2 brownies' worth.
Brownies for Film Day--Now there's a Slogan I can live with!!!:)  Go EAGLES!

WOW!!!!!
I've seen Cap play Wilmington four times in four years and I never even heard this guys name.

I don't know much about Otte but you might want to know he led Wilmington with 10 tackles and 2 break ups in this year's game against CAP, led the team with 13 tackles and a FF in last year's game with CAP, led the team in tackles with 16 and a pass breakup in the 2004 game against CAP and had 5 tackles a breakup and a FF in his freshman year against CAP.  He has 45 career tackles against CAP alone.  Does he play for a bad team?  YES.  Should a DB lead his team in tackles?  PROBABLY NOT.  But I'm guessing the PA announcer took the day off if you never heard the guy's name considering he led the Quackers in tackles three out of his four years against you.

Also, and this is just a guess, but I think Pentello was disqualified for his bid for the Gagliardi because of the community service aspect.  While the other finalists volunteered at retirement homes, Rocky was just admitted and given a room which doesn't quite count the same.

Congrats Rock on your stellar performance this year.

RC How the hell would you know what rocky does off the field. Unless it is posted on D3football you have no clue. Sorry but I don't see Doyle on campus everyday to report back to you on Rockys community service. Get a life. understand that Rocky is the greatest athlete to ever play d3 football.

I certainly hope you don't see Doyle on campus everyday or else he's in his 22nd year there just like Pentello.  You've gotten to the point, you're not even really all that fun to laugh at anymore.  You're so far up Rocky's butt you should probably think about climbing out for some air.

Stanley had 17 tackles last year so he didn't just split time on O and D as a freshman and sophomore and I was pretty sure he was lined up opposite of Garcon a couple times in last year's Stagg.  And Mounties know for sure?  I could have sworn he was defending Garcon because he was the only guy on the Warhawk roster capable of running with him.  And a 4.26 is pretty ridiculous.  Almost too ridiculous since the best time I can find recorded by the NFL is Deion's 4.29 and in the electronic era is a 4.30 by Tye Hill in 2006.  But hey, I'm sure Stanley is the fastest guy ever clocked.

Good luck to Mount and Capital Saturday.  Represent the OAC and bring home a couple W's.

14 in a row and 17 overall.  They tied for the Conference championship in 1994.  ONU beat them last year, and others have come close over the span (Capital, John Carrol, and Baldwin Wallace).  Unbelievable run.  Only two Regular Season losses since 1993.

National Champions - 13: 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2012, 2015, 2017

Ric

You're not including this year in your tally kirasdad. It's now 15 in a row and 18 overall.  And of the 18, 17 have been won outright with the lone year they shared the title being '94 when MTU, BW and JCU all finished 8-1 in conference and 9-1 overall.

Wow, that was just so hard for you to resist, wasn't it??

You did leave yourself wide open on that one.

I just thought you would be able to come up with something much, much better ;D ;D

Good luck this weekend against Wheaton, and hopefully we'll see you in Alliance (once again) next Saturday!!

skunks_sidekick

I know we all support "our team" on this board.....but.......

Rocky is the best athlete in D-III ever ???

Stanley will be playing at the next level ???

At least a few people have been topping their breakfast cereal with some hallucinatory chemical substances.   ;D

It's a beaUtiful day for football!  It's Mount in a landslide, with CAP pulling out a last minute victory.....and then CRUSHCAP Part 762 commences!

cufan

I am a huge Cap and Rocky fan........but he is the 3rd or 4th best QB in the history of the OAC let alone the nation.

Good luck to Cap today.

Happy playoff day everyone.  Here's hoping for a safe game for Capital, North Central,  Wheaton, and Mount.  Very exciting to have an "OAC v CCIW Challenge" again.  Good luck and safety for players and fans!

congratulations to MUC on another impressive win. Great team is an undersatement.

Best of luck to all.

You might wonder why Wheaton kept throwing in the red zone, even after three interceptions? They could not run the ball. They couldn't run against the front four.No.90,the Wheaton DE played great, but Mount's O-Line and D-Lines dominated the game.Final was 35-3.
