I'd give kickerdad some plus karma, but alas I am not yet so privileged to be handing out or smiting karma--maybe in another 300 or so posts.

Actually, you've only got 13 posts to go to attain the privilege!

Found this on the "why Mount Union should leave DIII" section under general football--thought some of you would enjoy reading it.

Hey, that thread title is should/should not. And the "should nots" tend to dominate the discussion.

I also posted this on that thread and thought it might be more fitting here:

QuoteStarted watching tape of the MUC/Cap '05 playoff game today.

Do you ever just assume, because of someone's name or position or whatever, what they look like?

I was watching and I was like "Lewis Howes is white?!"

I don't believe these thoughts have been offered but after seeing Wheaton play Mt. last Saturday, I  would have liked to see Cap play Wheaton.  The thunder would have giving Cap all they could have handled and then some.  Wheaton's running game would have been on track and  I saw what their passing game could accomplish.  Mt. defense carried the day,  I don't believe Cap's defense would have been as successful.
Mt.'s defense caused the four intercepts.  If Wheaton could have run the ball those intercepts may not have been there.  Perhaps Cap will get to play Wheaton in the not so distant future.  That will be an interesting game to watch.

That victory chain website is pretty neat.  Found one that has Capital beating ND this season.

Also found one from my senior year at Capital(2001) that had us beating Ohio State.  Too bad we couldn't beat Otterbein :-\

That's funny, I was just on there yesterday giving my friend from Moravian a hard time about the mid-90s.

So he writes me back, finding shorter chains for them beating us in three of the years.  >:(

rp,

I was thinking about that young man's appearance in SI and then leaving the team not long after.  He probably still would be buried on the depth chart at his chosen position, third string probably,  or have made a position change.  With Capital using a TE now, I could have seen someone with his frame filling that position.  College football isn't for everyone.

By the way, speaking of TE, I came back from the game raving about Capital's 3 WR, 1 TE ! RB shotgun set.  My HS is a spread team, but we still run the ball about 50 to 60 percent of the time.  I think the TE spread formation would work for us.

B4UKnewit,

Are you planning on making a marathon trip to Salem if the Raiders go back to the Stagg Bowl this year?

I may be able to tag along if so.

Yep, we moved in April.  All settled in now.  I don't think I want to ride on the back of anyone's motorcycle, unless the driver is a Sweedish Bikini Model!

You got a sidecar? LOL

Glad to know B4 is still lurking here. Can't pass up all this witty, intellectual repartee? (Pretty good english for an over the hill middle school PE teacher) ;)

well the board is rather boring this Thursday morning... I am covering for a History class today and the time just keeps on dragging....I was hoping someone would get something going... As of right now believe it or not I do not have much to say... Other than I and the one and only Blind_Side will be traveling to the game together

Although the current weather is like an early Spring day here with an 8:00 AM tempearature around 60, the skies are blackening and there is a strong wind warning in effect for the rest of today as the cold front begins to move in. We will see rain and snow in the area Friday with temp dropping into the twenties over night Friday. Look for a "High" of 35 Saturday with snow showers. If you remember the weather for last years game, well dress the same way.

Maybe we can get a weather delay since I just checked my school mailbox and I'm scheduled to supervise the weight room till noon on Saturday. Hey, maybe they'd rather go to a football game than lift
