A few passing thoughts on the Mt. Cap. game.
If ever Cap. was going to win a game it was yesterday.
Mt. only scored 17pts.
Mt. gives up 149 yds passing. They gave up 255yds. 106 yds more. 26 per quarter.
Cap. gives up 117 yds. rushing per game.  Mt. got 302 yds. 185 more yds. 46 yds per qt.
Mt. was one dimensional yesterday and  Cap. had problems, plus Mt. had their pentalties.
With 4"59 left and the score 17-14.  Mt runs 11 plays gets 45 yds. rushing before giving up ball with 14 sec. left.  Cap. defense could not stop them.
That is why Mt. is a great team and program.  They found a way to win.  Cap. had it all and they still lost.
This is said to praise Mt., not to knock Cap.
Like other poster's have said, it takes a tremendous effort to win against them.
All 60 minutes must be played out.
To SJf fans, Can you win, why not, that is why they play the game. will Mt be over confident, I think not.

okay i know people have moved on past the Mount/Cap game, but i would like to make just a few comments...

1. Very entertaining game to watch
2. Heart breaking loss for Cap
3. Great win for Mount
4. Shows the strides cap has made over the past few years
5. Having size does matter lol - Mounts o-line absolutely huge
6. Skill positions are even with Pentello and Kmic taking the cake at there respective positions..
7. In conclusion just a very good day of football

Okay now just a few quotes from the fans of the game

Mount Fan to Cap Fan- " hey at least i was not finished after four years like pentello will be"
Cap fan replies "yea that because normal people are graduated by then u F-ing Re___

and the always famous one
Mount Fan "Capital Sucks"
Cap Fan" does that mean Mount sucks just a little bit less"

I really enjoyed the banter back and forth

2minute....classic buddy! That was funny

Blind_Sided....I can't believe the lack of class you are showing. Cap lost, it happens...Congratulate them on a great season and cheer on your conference to the title. Of course nobody likes to lose, but it does happen. Don't give Cap fans a posters a bad name by your iggnorance.

Once again, great year Cap and good luck next year.

After 20+ years of coaching LK does not let his teams get comfortable. He respects every opponent, no matter what. Mount has not seen SJF firsthand but we have seen that type of football played before. We will be prepared for SJF, count on it.

No doubt about that from me.

In my humble opinion, Micheli brings more to the table for Mount than Jorris does at this point.  Both QB's for Mount have great passer efficiencies and Micheli's legs make him a threat on the ground as well.  Why is it that Jorris' passing numbers are down this season?  Injury? Splitting time?

I can't say I'll be sad to see blind_side go but that's just about the worse kind of fan out there.  Talk smack, piss people off, make inflammatory comments and then when your "team" loses, you act poorly and say you're never posting again.  It's a shame and reflects poorly on Capital after such a great game.

Congrats to the Crusaders on two amazing seasons and thank you for doing your part to make the OAC proud.  Also thank you to all the sensible Crusader fans taking blind_side to task for his poor sportsmanship.

Finish the job Raiders...for all of us in the OAC.

"In retrospect, I didn't win  anything when I was at Captial .  Granted , I put up some fairly good numbers in my carreer.  But  we didn't beat Mount Union, we didn't win  a national championship, we never won the OAC title.  That was a shame."  Rocky Pentello   Sunday Canton Repository

I know Rocky was very disappointed when he said this, and I hope over time he'll think otherwise.  He won the respect of his opponents, and the love of his teammates and fans; and he and those he played with established Capital as a first rate program, not only in the OAC but nationally.

Rocky has a lot to be proud of.

Cru   26   Sorry to have ruffled your feathers.  But I was of the opinion that when Rocky was looking for a D3 home that coach LK wanted him very badly.  Rocky choose Cap.  That was fine.  However if he had selected  Mt.  WOW what a string of national championships he might have had.     The fact that LK thought he was first rate speaks highly of his abilities of which he has shown over the years.  I guess I shoudn't have put that way, no disrespect intended.  And on to the Basilians!

Take this with a grain of salt, as I have really no knowledge of the situation.

It seems to me that the kid picked Capital perhaps in the hopes of leading them past MUC? It sounds like he's a great talent & competitor and maybe he picked Capital knowing he would have to lead them past MUC - Sounds like maybe he did it for the challenge. If that's the case, that is exceedingly admirable!

I'd like to say that you MUC posters have a lot of class & that's great to see. You've had so much success and you all stay fairly humble and although you've earned the right to be an arrogant bunch, it seems that nobody on here is that way.

It looks like MUC has a great program on & off the field - Kudos.

No, just nice to see things like that from a program & it's faithful after so much success.

I myself have been guilty of some questionable banter this year w/ the Fisher success - I think we can all follow a good example set by MUC on how to handle things.

They come off as cordial and respectful but secretly they're all a bunch of jerks.  Kirasdad plays in a 6-man football league in Florida but he fails to disclose that this league is for 10-12 year olds and he found a loophole to play himself.  Seventiesraider gets his kicks from high-fiving MUC players and doing the "too slow" anti-high five move with opposing players.  hscoach goes hot-tubbing with other peoples' old ladies.  Ric ghostwrites a fansite rooting against other OAC schools.  I don't know skunk's sidekick but I have it on good authority he drives with his brights on just to annoy other motorists.  And then there's stoonk...

No but he is on offense and did earn honors this year. We have had a great run with Capital football. The OAC is a great conference. Represent the OAC well Mount.
