You obviously haven't watched the video.  Watch and you'll understand the Fisher video looks like it was created by a Mount fan.  Watch the entire video.

Do it fast.  The video looks like one big copyright infringement and with youtube being owned by big brother google, it may not stay up long.

Man, and I watched that on my church computer!

sorry this is not football related

To any who belong to the armed forces... I have a question... Are military soldiers given bullet proof vests?

2minuteO,

To make a long story short, yes, we are.  I cannot attest as to whether all in the Air Force or Navy get them, but all Army Soldiers and Marines are issued "body armor," or what you call bullet proof vests, from the Clothing Issue Facility when they inprocess into a new unit.  All Soldiers in deployable units get a vest.  Guys like me; ROTC instuctors, those in training units, etc., don't usually get issued one, unless we are called to deploy as an individual.  In those cases, we all go through a deployment site where we are issued "theater specific items" such as body armor and chemical protective gear, etc.

When I fist came in the Army, in 1998, I was issued an old school "flak vest," which survived from Vietnam and would stop grenade fragments and small caliber bullets.  When we got ready to deploy to Kosovo in 1999, we traded those in for "ranger body armor," which was made with the same material as the flak vest, but had ceramic plates that were inserted in the front and back.  The ceramic plates would stop a heavier caliber bullet, but they only covered your heart and lung area.   You were still vulnerable from the side and in the gut.  However, the ranger armor did allow for more freedom of movement with your arms and head than did the old vests.  Since then, the Army and Marine Corps has gone to the "Interceptor Body Armor," or IBA.  The vest allows freedom of motion like the ranger armor, but allowed for greater protection.  The plates inserted are called "SAPI" plates, and will stop a 7.62mm bullet, which is what the AK-47 (the primary insurgent weapon) shoots.  We have an instructor in our program who was shot in the back in Iraq, and his vest saved his life.  The SAPI plate shattered, dissapating the force of impact of the round, and slowed it enough that it just barely penetrated his skin.  The impact, however, was still enough to knock him unconcious.

Since 2005, the SAPI plated have been redesigned, and now offer even more protection.

Here is a link if you want to know more:

That's probably more info than you wanted or needed, but if you have any more questions, shoot me a personal message.

Now, back to your regularly scheduled football coverage.

Maybe my computer or Youtube is just slow today, because it was just frame by framing it.  I will have to watch it at home.

It starts off like a hacky promo and then about 2:30 in BAM! a big funny surprise.  Don't want to give away the ending.

Alright right then. I had to watch it at home on my plannig period since the school system blocks things like Myspace and Youtube, and for very good reason.

I'll be waiting for an update from the Fisher folks on the "surprise ending", but for now I think I'll stay away from the visitor's side on Saturday. ;) ;)

BTW: In Vietnam the "Body Armour" we had was sitting on our steel pots in the choppers in order to protect our "valuables."
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

That is hysterical.  Don't expect the Fisher guys to be laughing though.  They have taken this a little too seriously.

Small but Slow

kirasdad:     Thanks for the weather link!  The high here Saturday is only supposed to be in the upper 60's and we're complaining.  Is the weather going to be a factor in Mount's passing game?

I just got some information regarding Mount's offensive scheme for this weekend.  I did double-check with someone in authority before putting it out there on this board.  If you didn't already know, I am a "friend of a friend" of LK's.  Therefore, I get some inside info on occasion which at times I can share, and at times I can't.  Well this is one of the times I can, and it's fairly intriguing.

Word is, Mount has been using a rotation of Jorris, Micheli (way more Micheli than Jorris), and get this.........GARCON......AND KMIC in the QB spot while running the O.  Evidently LK believes the answer to this weekend is to run, and he wants to make sure Garcon gets his touches of the football.  Think shotgun/option/single wing.  Evidently, when they put Kmic at QB they load the wings with Morring and Antanucci, and just power it up.

VERY INTERESTING!   :o  (LK is a mad scientist/genious)

Skunks, that info was not supposed to get out before the game!  But if you're telling secrets then I'm curious to hear how the CARDS will stop Mount's full house backfield this Saturday ? (Kmic, Morring & Wray)

OU - the weird thing is........the person telling me this info was SERIOUS.  I tried to call him back later, and got his voice mail.  the Garcon thing makes sense.  I don't quite get the Kmic part of the equation.

skunks_sidekick

SSB - the biggest factor effecting Mount's passing game may be LK himself.  He has been opposed to passing these recent days.  Word is Mount will trick up some run plays, and shy away from the pass.
