As for skunks mention of Mount lining up in a "Wildcat" offense, it's possible.  Does Bo Pietro stir any memories of Mount football lore?

Brad Peitro?  Sr. QB 1990 Season?

Yes, thanks.  I had at least part of it.  Good running QB.  I don't know where I got Bo from.

I was a Freshman 4th string QB Brad's Senior Year.  He was more of an option QB if I remember correctly.  We travelled 4 QBs to Wooster that year and I was the only one who didn't see the field.  :)

KD - Exactly my point.  SJF should be prepared for anything they can imagine.  As you know from first hand experience the MUC offense can easily be altered to suit any QB type.

Only 1 more day until Saturday fellas!!!

These guys really have no clue what's gonna happen Saturday do they?

Y'all come down.
This just in:

SJF is not Heidelberg and Otterbein and Schlepenberg

Yet I  personally don't think your Capital or Baldwin Wallace  either :)
You sure we are not at least a 7-3 team like BW?  I mean we did win 12 games so far with wins against Ithaca, Union, Rowan, Springfield, UR, and Alfred...that's 5 playoff teams AND Ithaca. By the way, the combined score in those games was 212-75 and 3 of those games were on the road.

I think that is one of the greatest abilities that LK and his coaching staff have.

1990 we had an Option type offense with Brad Pietro at QB, and Dean Paul and another bruising type RB in the backfield.  1991 Jim Ballard comes in and starts chucking the ball around to Bubonics, Siriani and crew.  Then came the Borchert/Smeck years.  Followed by the Chuck Moore/Dan Pugh years.  Then back to the Adamson/Jorris time and now Kmic again.

Great System that can convert based on the talent.  I think it is the main reason for the continued success.

Is SJF  running back the best Running Back that Mount has seen all this season?

My useless and wrong prediction:

Mount - 31
Fisher - 21

All teams at this time of year are pretty damn good.  But, I would say that the top 3 teams in the OAC could do some damage any year in the playoffs if they were in separate brackets.  And the middle of the OAC is no cupcake either.  I do admit that the bottom 3-4 teams in the OAC are not good.  This fact keeps the OAC from being the toughest conference in the nation IMO.  WIAC is just so strong from top to bottom.

Good question.  I would have to say yes.  But, Chaz Black from Wheaton had a pretty good season:

Had 1116 yds in 10 games and ended up with 70 vs. the Raiders.

It is so difficult to determine conference strength or strength of schedule from year to year.  I recall several who thought the OAC was slipping last year when Cap moved into the runnerup spot.  We all became accustomed to John Carroll or B-W battling Mount, but ONU and Cap. have had some pretty solid teams as well.
kirasdad - I see on your profile that we're neighbors in Pasco county!  Enjoy the frozen tundra this weekend.  Have a cold one at the Bier Haus for me.

Hey 2minute0, I am still here. Still licking my wounds! Wishing we were talking about playing tomorrow. Oh well, what do we cap fans say, Maybe next year!  I can not believe no defense guys from Cap made North region. Whats up with that?

Ask me that on Saturday afternoon.  If SJF has any shot tomorrow against MUC, they need Robinson (and his O-line too) to be the best Mount has seen by quite a large margin.  Chaz Black from Wheaton was pretty decent, but Wheaton's running game wasn't overly concerning.

One thing to keep in mind when viewing MUC's dominant rushing defensive numbers is that outside of Mount, there really isn't a team in the OAC conference that I'd classify as a "great running team", nor any RB's that I'd put anywhere near Nate Kmic.  RJ Meadows from ONU is the closest, but he didn't have the supporting cast around him this year to make an impact.  So MUC hasn't had to stop a real dominant rushing team at any point this season.  Also remember that QB sacks show up as negative rushing yards, so the rush defense looks even better.  Overall, MUC's rush defense is very good, but is built on getting a lot of hats to the ball carrier very quickly.  I still think a power running game like Augustana or Whitewater will give this defense serious problems.

I'm looking forward to seeing a new team from the East tomorrow.  Especially with the MUC/SJF openers pending in 2008 and 09.  That just adds a little more intrigue into this game.  The interesting match-ups out new teams is one of the things I enjoy the most about the D3 playoffs.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

I think that this game is going to be a lot closer than what anyone thinks...Fisher has basically manhandled everyone on their schedule this year except for Springfield...Do I think fisher can win...honestly I don't know I want them to win with all my heart...but MUC is good...but I've also never seen MUC and MUC has never seen SJFC...so what could be fast for MUC could be normal for Fisher...remember an E8 team has never advanced this far while being an E8 team....and that's not saying much since the league only started in 2002 and we just got the AQ in 04 I think....so I think we should see a great game...and from what I saw with the stats....MUC gives up about 160 yards per game in the air...if that is true what I could see is fisher coming out with quick passes and then getting the ball to robinson and thus trying to controll the clock and keep the MUC offense off of the field

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.
