11:30am - ...... but I can assure you that they haven't faced a defense like ours. Gagliardi finalist (our Gags winner) Ryan Kleppe, A.J., and Robb are nothing like Mt. Union has seen.

Kirasdad,

Didn't MUC faced these very same guys last year?  That didn't seem to bother the Raiders very much when Kmic busted off that 90 yard romp.

I'd like to go out on a limb & guarantee Kmic has at least 150 yards on the day.

Kirasdad:
I was going to echo the same comment.  Mount faced a similar line from WW last season and pounded the rock right at them.  I'm sure WW's line has improved but so has Mount's.  All things being similar...I'll take Kehres as my coach everytime.  Let's just make sure we get the coin flip call correct this week  ;)

Sorry UWW I had the pleasure of starting against Mount Union 4 times...Cant believe I fell short of Rocky's 6.. .. It really does not matter how good the players u have on your defense are.  I still do not see u guys winning.... I played on a team with I believe 5 All-Americans and 2 of them being named first team... There are just not enough players as a team to beat Mount...
I watched this years Capital vs. Mount game and Mounts O-line is very good and very large #47 for Mount has arms bigger than Ivan Dragos in Rocky IV
I played in an ESPN classic in the 05 playoffs only coming up short 3 points on a FLUKE lol play With Jorris pitching the ball on the goal line...

Good luck to u UWW you guys are going to need it.

Small but Slow

150 yards for Kmic seems like a safe estimate . . . for the first half, based on last week.  All any of us can offer is a guess, some educated. some, well . . . just guesses.

11:30am - I came up to SAC and watched about 45 minutes of film on Mt. Union. They are very athletic as a team. Smaller than last year, but their front seven has some speed and gets off blocks very well. Just to reiterate what I have been saying all week...it is going to be a great game!! They have an explosive running back in Nate Kimic and have really been pounding teams with their offensive line, but I can assure you that they haven't faced a defense like ours. Gagliardi finalist (our Gags winner) Ryan Kleppe, A.J., and Robb are nothing like Mt. Union has seen.

I love when people make statements like this.

Whitewater's front seven from last year's Stagg:  Kosterman, Kleppe, Thompson, Ogrizovich, Raebel, Widuch and Price.

Everybody but Price returns on this year's Warhawk front seven.  Kinda blows the "they haven't seen anyone like us" thing out of the water.  Unless it's true that Price got replaced by Urlacher.  In that case, I think it's only a 3 point margin of victory for Mount.

I keep reading about WW's size and strength.  I am sure it is impressive.  But I have watched Mount's D consistently camp out in offensive backfields all year.

This stat from last week was startling, correct me if the numbers are off.  All we heard last week was how SJF's QB was only sacked 17 times this year.  The Purple Raider defense last week, 7 sacks, not too mention the constant penetration the whole day.

Size matters, speed kills!

Go Raiders

Small but Slow

On the track Mount may not have the 4.5 40 guys, but they play at a higher speed.  I'll take speed and agility over size.

Your right on the track comment they might not be 4.5, more like 4.4 to 4.3, I played at Mount for 5yrs and in those 5 years the speed was tremendous, I had never seen so many sub 4.4 40yd dashes on a football team.  The weight and conditioning programs along with the speed programs grew each year.  With that being said, I have been out of school for 3yrs now and I am pretty sure watching them (Mount) that it keeps getting better. Mount does not take the biggest, fastest player when they bring kids in they bring in the best athlete and they know they can make that player the biggest and fastest.  Mount is a "TEAM" UWW will have to play the perfect game to beat LK and the gang, to beat the gang is hard enough, but beating LK is a tremendous feet as well and rarely happens good luck your gonna need.  GO MOUNT # 9 Lets catch Notre Dame

I know you guys are dieing for WW fans to come on here and talk smack. Nobody likes to spread the BS more than I do, but it's too hard to talk crap about MU without sounding stupid.

As far as the game goes, for WW to have a chance they have to be able to run some, and pass block. Thats something a lot of teams couldn't do. I think WW is a little better this year than last, so we'll see if they are enough better Saturday. Good luck to all.

Just spoke with one of the managers at the Corn Beef & Company. She said there would be plenty of room to mingle. She noted they had "a ton" of TVs downstairs, 6-8 pooltables, several couches, and 3 different bars down there.
One thing of note: She did mention that dress was casual but they didn't allow sweatsuits, etc. Jeans are allowed! I specifically asked about wearing jersey's and she said no unless you are a player. Yeah, like that is going to happen. Still shooting for a 7pm meet up for anyone interested in dropping by.

Did I catch an "enough better" back there?

At any rate - that was a good play flash. Tough to beat MUC any way you slice it.
