Capital has a very talented team both on offense and defense.  You need a lot more than that vs MU.  You have to have the mental toughness to really believe you can win.  If Cap has some plays go their way early we could see a good game.  I think someone said this awhile back that the difference between Rocky and Arth is that Arth loved playing MU.  I dont think Rocky has Sat circled on his calender.  Rocky has one of the strongest arms in OAC history and is very good but until he steps it up against the big boys he will not be considered one of the best.

I was only listening to the radio broadcast, but last year Capital seemed to play toe-to-toe with MUC until the ill-fated reverse on the kick-off return.  I think this team probably has the horses and the head to play with the Raiders.

I think there is a little more difference between Arth and Rocky than liking to play Mount, but that is neither here nor there.  As far as how they played last year against Mount, they played a good 28 minutes of football and then the fumble.  From there on out, it looked as if they expected something like that to happen and couldn't believe they were playing like that with Mount.  Of course, this is a bystander's opinion who was in the stands.

The problem is the offense isn't on the field very long.(if that is a problem) If you look at the game line from last week I believe the average for all drives was under 2 minutes! What was most impressive was there were several that were in the 60-70 yard range. That makes for a long day for the D. I think that was part of the problem last year against MHB. The time of posession was way in MHB's favor and the D ran out of steam.
Nice, long, time consuming drives is not our way but sometimes that can be a great defense too. Rocky on the sidelines for forty minutes sounds good to me. The best arm in the world doesn't matter there.

WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

You're half right.  The defense did get worn down, but only because Bruney couldn't hit the broad side of burn in the 4th quarter.  All MUC need was a 1st down in the last 10 minutes and they're playing in Salem.  3 play drives are fine as long as they end in points.  3 play drives that end in punts will kill you.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Since Rocky is the QB for Capital, I'll use a Rocky quote.

Reporter:  What's your prediction for the fight?
Mount Union:  Prediction?
Reporter:  Yes, prediction.
Mount Union:  ...Pain.

I just don't think that Capital can hang with these guys...I don't think anybody in the OAC can hang with these guys for that matter.  If Mount comes out flat, then Capital has a chance.

Someone's going to make Mount Union sweat in the regular season, it happens every year.  Let's not give 'em the trophy just yet. That's what December 17th is for. ;D

kirasdad I doubt they wear black over white two weeks in a row, but then again I was told they'd never wear 'em once.  My vote is for purple over purple, which is my home fave, but I have a feeling it will be black over purple, which is my least favorite anywhere.

Kira & Jaxon's Dad

I kind of like the Black over White, but they need to incorporate some Black into the helmet. Maybe a Black Facemask, Chinstrap, and Ear Pads.

I also like the Purple over White.

Very excited for the game tomorrow. If Cap can keep it close, I think they will have a chance. They have to play balanced football and take a few chances down field. Trick plays no, but chances down fied, yes!

I just hope someone can cover Mounts wideouts.

Why people go to that hellhole you call ONU.

1. Top ranked OAC academic school.
2. To stay out of trouble- not the NCAA variety
3. Successful football
4. Great facilities- I'm glad I can now say it.

Why punish a player for taking a full load in his 16th quarter if he could have been eligible with 9 hours instead of the 12 he was taking?

Mount colors are Purple and White.  The less black the better.

And spare us the black over white.  I thought I was back at Perry HS watching my sons' old team.

Good one CUfan.

Ohiofootball is a little late on his response. The hell hole comment was a few days ago.
