Strange...I'm officially a year older but I don't feel any wiser.  I thought it was supposed to work that way.

Merry Christmakwanzakkuh to everyone.

Mount's freshman class of 2003 will graduate in 2007.  They will take with them an admirable and commendable record of four OAC championships and two consecutive Stagg Bowl victories, the eighth and ninth in Raider Tradition.  This group was the core of a team that Anti-Raiders said could be beaten and was the beginning of the end for the Raider Dynasty.  They all contributed to the success of the Raiders; and, it turned out that this group helped bring Christmas early, in 2006, for Raider fans everywhere.  The heartfelt thanks, of PRaider fans go with them.  On November 1, 2006, this outstanding, if small, group of 24 was on the roster.  Just think about these players:

2 Robinson, Aaron** RB 5-11 203
4 Smith, Maxwell* WR 6-0 200
5 Stickley, Justen*** DE 6-1 234
6 Jorris, Michael*** QB 6-1 214
10 Ursetti, Anthony* DB 5-11 178
11 Antonucci, Anthony* TE 6-2 215
25 Magyary, Ryan DB 5-10 180
27 Fehl, Ryan** CB 6-0 185 Sr.
34 White, Bobby RB 6-0 200
38 Dannemiller, Paul* LB 5-8 177
48 Vucelich, Sam* * DE 6-1 240
54 Hubler, Bryan* OG 6-3 260
57 Reash, Tim* OG 6-1 284
64 Williams, Nathan OL 6-0 260
66 Henniger, Josh** OT 6-3 280
72 Lewis, Jason*** RT 6-5 317
73 Creachbaum, Ryan*** OT 6-6 255
77 Sobkowich, Steve DL 6-2 248
78 Goble, Jared* OL 6-0 275
81 Ditz, J.J.** WR 6-2 195
90 Stanislaw, Shawn DL 6-2 236
93 Diemert, Dan* K 5-10 190
96 Lyon, Zack* DT 6-1 276
98 Borato, Dean DT 6-3 257

How will we go on without those guys?  Woe is life in Raider-Land.

I owe a debt to Ric Brienza as much of the data came from his website.  However, I accept responsibility for errors in fact.  A Merry Christmas to PRaiders everywhere and Raider Fans everywhere.  To Anti-Raiders, Merry Christmas, they're coming.

It is Christmas 2006 and PRaider fans, everywhere, are rejoicing.  They celebrated Christmas early, in Salem.  But, they know of the wishful thinking of Anti-Raiders everywhere, their hopes and dreams of the demise of the Raider Nation.  The Raiders lost 24 good men – everyone – how will we survive?

Well, consider that the PRaider freshmen of 2004, joining Raider Tradition, may have been disappointed in not winning the national championship in 2004.  Be not dismayed, Class of 2008, you now have the opportunity to do what two Raider teams have done – in 1998 and 2002 – win three consecutive Stagg Bowls and the tenth Stagg Bowl in Raider Tradition.  Are you up to the task?  A look at the 35 juniors that may return should give us clues.  Are there sufficient players of PRaider quality among them?

Juniors
1 Garcon, Pierre* WR 6-1 205
2 Zimmerman, Mike* K 5-11 160
3 Kappas, Chris DB 5-8 184
5 Bruney, Trevor* RB 5-11 196
7 Pierce, Darrell CB 5-9 170
8 Barren, Nick** S 5-10 192
9 Kostelnik, Matt** S 6-1 198
9 Harris, Danny QB 6-1 200
12 Boehm, Brandon* WR 5-8 175
14 Burtscher, Bryan DB 5-11 188
19 Fisher, Sean QB 5-11 203
22 McCullough, Pat** DT 5-11 246

Did you look at the names?  Did you think "he" graduated?  Wow, "they" return?  Maybe, just maybe, things are not quite as bleak as they seemed, not quite as bad as the Anti-Raiders would have you believe (or, they believe).

As in Part One, I owe a debt to Ric Brienza as much of the data came from his website.  However, I accept responsibility for any errors in fact.

Merry Christmas PRaider Class of 2008, PRaiders fans everywhere and, of course, to the lovable Anti-Raiders.  Anti-Raiders, do you hear Raider footsteps?

Pat, when you select pictures for the new header, I like the one of the two coaches walking off the field with their arms on each others shoulders.  To me , this picture says alot about D3 football and what its all about.  Just my two cents worth.  Hope you and yours had a Merry Christmas.

Cool, thanks -- I agree. We'll put that on the list.

Since we already have the right teams in the header and the main players are still represented, I can say this is farther down the priority list than usual but we'll get there eventually.

Has Pierre Garcon inquired about his NFL draft status?Who was the highest drafted OAC player ever? With his size and athletic ability,he might be a 4th or 5th rounder,he is special,I have not seen a player of his caliber play in D3.He would be impressive at the combine. Also, congrats to LK and MUC.And last but not least, congrats to Ken Wable the foundation builder of the Dynasty!!!!Remember everything leads back to Coach Wable.

reality check

Garcon has exceptional talent but I have a hard time believing a team would draft him.  I'm sure he'll get a look but he's been injury-prone in his two years at MUC and would need to play in one of the Senior All-Star bowls to be considered a draftee.  I'm not saying it's totally out the realm of possibility but I think guessing fourth or fifth round is getting very greedy.  And he has no business thinking about NFL draft status this off-season.

Garcon certainly loves to play the game.  He may be the best chance that Mt. has had in sometime of playing on sunday.  He would have to beef up some and that might affect his speed.  But he still is a growing lad and who knows?  stranger things have happened.  But he still needs to concentrate on his senior year, get the degree first and see what happens.
