Whelp, I was already in a bad mood becuase the start time for Indians game ment I was going to miss my first home Raiders game in years.  Then I have to watch the Indians piss away another game and their playoff chances.   :(  Then I have to hear about the great MUC/Cap battle!  Uggh.  My Saturday sucks. >:(

Only interesting thing today was listening to the last 5 minutes of the ONU/JCU game while sitting in traffic on Prospect Street.  WHAT IN THE WORLD HAPPENED THERE?   So much for ONU's chances at a playoff spot.  Might as well retract the appeal.  Congrats to JCU for recovering very nicely after the MUC beating.  Would have never guessed the Streaks would rebound that well after watching their performance (or lack thereof) versus Mount.

Did I see the score right?  Musky over BW??????  Time to stick a fork in the Yellow Jackets.

Ott beat Marietta 31-17. Sounds like the OAC also rans had a good game.

Wilmington warms up for next week by beating the Berg
28-14.

"3) 70-0 means scafe pissed off LK"

KO-HAWK: What exactly did Regis Scafe do to supposedly piss off Larry Kehres?  I hope you can back up a statement like that before you smear two excellent coaches.

And why are you slamming JCU - "like Coe losing to Knox" - that's not just smack, it's ignorant.  70-0 was awful, but find me an OAC team that has hung better with MUC over the last ten years than JCU.   Didn't think you'd find one.   As soon as your own house is in order there in beautiful downtown Ada then we'll talk.

Also, seventiesraider, I agree:  maybe ONU just isn't quite as good as billed.  Credit to the ONU fans who won't let Trusnik's absence be the scapegoat.

Finally, did that many people think JCU would just pack it in after the MUC game?   It's not like we lost to Tri-C.

First congrats again to the Streaks today for taking it to the Polar Bears.  I am not saying JCU hasn't been through some epic battles with MUC.  I know there have been some good ones.  But I thought this might be of interest to you...

In the last ten meetings MUC has outscored JCU 46.7 to 19.7
In the last ten meetings MUC has outscored ONU 46.0 to 21.9.

As I said JCU has taken MUC to the ropes a couple times but it all evens out in the big picture.  We are all about the same when it comes to our performance on the whole.

As we have only ever had one Musky fan on here that I recall (we ran him off), let me say congrat's to Muskingum for their victory over BW (He said, smiling ear to ear) ;D. Considering that the Jackets escaped with a one touchdown victory last year I don't think this was a fluke. Muskingum is by no means a great team but hardly the doormat they have been in past years, at least they seem to be able to play defense with the big boys.
Are we on the verge of putting to rest one of the silliest claims to fame in D3: BW's streak of being average or better for umpty two years ??? ???

I'll be the first to admit that after watching JCU get blasted in week 2, I thought they were done.  I'll also be the first to admit that I was 100% wrong.   Please understand my JCU assessment comes from seeing just that one game, but I thought their secondary looked slow, O-line was average at best and neither QB seemed to have a clue when/where to throw and worse yet, when NOT to throw it.  Only group that impressed me was their run defense.  Again, congrats to JCU for righting the ship.

I know we've only played 3 league games so far, but the results have been rather interesting.    Capital  has already lost their shot at a playoff spot,  BW is in the crapper, JCU was left for dead but has rebounded, ONU is in complete turmoil with the NCAA stuff and the JCU loss which puts their playoff chances on life support, Marietta has not lived up to the hype, Otterbein is making a serious push toward a winning season, and Muskingum still hasn't figured out the forward pass but won anyway.

The only constant has been MUC.

That and the Berg is now Hiram.

JCU Alum 87,

Please don't call me an ONU fan.  I am a KO-HAWK all the way.  What is your take on why Larry kills JCU every chance he gets?  Is it because it just happens, like in '97 twice, '02 twice, '03, '04 and '05?  No, LK made a comment that was printed in the paper about "never losing to JCU again" after their '89 loss.  He hasn't and he sticks it to them every chance he gets.  I believe it is LK's biggest game every year.  I wonder what the reason is, but he has it in for JCU.  He will call the dogs off on any other team except them.  He is kind of picking on them.  Maybe he just hated DeCarlo that much?  It is not to say that he doesn't drill other teams, but JCU is special to him.

So, if JCU actually runs the table, do they get in the playoffs despite a 70-0 spanking from Mount?  Could be interesting,

My congrats to Cap.  They fought the Raiders and were victorious for 3 quarters.  I was impressed by caps line play on both sides of the ball.  Mt's offensive line  came to life in the 4 quarter.  They still need to get better if they make the playoffs.  Jorris looked good at times and at times his reads were way off.  5 turnovers or was it 6, this will have to be corrected.  Gameball to Mt's defense.
I hope cap somehow makes the playoffs.  They would do well.  And ko-hawk was right,  Garcon is not just a waiter  any more.

RC-
I do have to give you credit for two things.
1.  You've been a very gracious person on the losing side of things.  (Not whiney and excuse-filled)
2.  You were right about one thing, you told me it would be "a long day in U-heights."  Unfortunately for you, it was a long day for the guys in white.

Best of luck to the Bears the rest of the way.  I think that this is shaping up to be one of the most exciting seasons (who's number 2, that is) in the OAC we've had in a few years.

Scafe must have pissed of LK so bad that he was beating JCU twice in 1997 in preperation of Scafe's arrival after the 1998 season ended.

You have to give JCU credit but I believe the only table they will be running is the training table ;D  there is nothing worse than meeting up with an INJURED BEAR throughout the course of hunting season!  Mount's running game still needs work. I believe the talent is there. Can anyone who was there in person elaborate on how it looked in comparison to previous weeks? :-\
