That would be a real bad D2 conference, Ashland should stay in the Gliac they are finally turning things up and getting to next level, all in a good conf. Malone, Walsh, and Wooster are middle of the pack OAC schools at best.

Small but Slow

Is there an implication that The College of Wooster isn't moving up to D2 to face new athletic challenges?  There will probably be academic advantages for the Scots, or at least that will be the claim.

Kmic's roster numbers are 5'9", 193 pounds. Very few, and very possibly no, NFL teams would be interested in even taking an in person, tape or disc look at, much less working out or inviting to mini-camp, a DIII runningback with actual numbers anywhere in that vicinity despite his having other acceptable or more than acceptable NFL qualities. An appropriate DIII CB with those numbers just might draw interest if he had sufficient speed and quickness and played well enough, but NFL teams are very much averse to DIII players who need to be projected from their usual college position to a NFL one.

Wooster would have to move up in everything. You can't play D-II in basketball or football and not play D-II in everything else as well.

That bothered me when Dayton got away with that--playing D III football and (I believe it was) D I in other sports.

Small but Slow

Dayton was forced to move up to I-AA but remained non-scholarship. Georgetown (DC) and UConn also moved up to division 1.  UConn decided to make the move to 1A if they could be guaranteed admission to the Big East.  Guess that worked out okay for them.

I'm as big a Mount homer as anyone, and Kmic is an absolute beast, but IMO this talk about the NFL should end quickly.  Kmic excels because of his vision, work ethic and relentless effort.  Not because of his physical attributes.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

I am laughing about Malone, Walsh, and Wooster....they would finish, at best in the middle of the OAC, WIAC, and not be that great in the CCIW

It pains me to agree about Kmic and the NFL, but 12 TD's in three playoff games is exciting. :-[

I'm just hoping the Wooster thing is just recruiter babble. Wittenburg recruiters are still spreading that whole "King of D3 Football" line.

Agree. Mount players need to focus on Wheaton--not on a longshot chance in the NFL.

With all due respect, I don't think Mount players are reading or focusing on this board!  ;)

went to the indy colts game to today. saw and talked to pierre garcon.  he seems to be doing well.  has to pay his dues on special teams.  it seems the veteran players like him.  after the game he gave me a game ball.  that was real cool!

Interesting to hear about the "Wooster rumors".  Like most (or all) of you, I hope they are false.  Why is it that these rumors show up at this time of year?  There has been a rumor over on our board "from somewhere" that Olivet is thinking about leaving the MIAA.  I am working on finding out if there is any legitimacy to that rumor, although I don't believe it.
