Small but Slow

Also found the link for Blake Elliott.  http://www.nfl.com/players/blakeelliott/profile?id=ELL234267  He's bigger than I thought he was.  I believe if he hadn't been injured he would have been a solid NFL player.

Blake Elliott was a stud.  I'll never forget his game in the Stagg Bowl against Mount Union.  He was the game breaker.  He transferred from Minnesota as I recall, but I think he'd played basketball there.

. . . I cant believe MUC makes Chuck Moore pay to get into the games! At least upgrade his tickets to section 13. He will be made welcome there. It was good to see him interviewed on the TV replay. He looks like he can still play!

You've got to be kidding (although I suspect you are not! ;)).  MUC makes their former players pay to attend the home games?  My alma mater Hope College gives all of us former football players a lifetime pass to all home football games.  MUC can't be that hard up for gate receipts, or are they?!! ;D ::)

Before he did The Mount in, Gagliardi put him at running back in the West Final in Collegeville against LINFIELD, and he was the difference in the game.

The word the week leading up to the championship game was that he was questionable for the game, and if he did play he would be limited by the injury (can't remember exactly what it was).  If he was limited that day, I would hate to have faced him healthy.

QuoteElliot from St. Johns was a WR.

Elliot from Linfield was a QB.

Gents, out of respect to the Gagliardi Trophy recipients, there is a double tt at the end of their family names.

Wow.

Reading a few articles about the BCS and listening to the talk shows reminds me how fortunate we are to have the playoff system we have in DIII.  What a mess!

To answer all the Blake Elliott 2003 questions:

It was a hamstring injury that hobbled him  ;)  in the Stagg Bowl.

We started running him in the backfield prior to the Stagg Bowl against Linfield and RPI (although he was injured against RPI)

He was and is a great young man that overcame the near death of his brother prior to the season in a car accident.  He spent most of the summer at his brother's bedside in the Twin Cities while he was in a coma.

He did not transfer from the University of Minnesota; that was Ryan Keating the QB.  He played basketball for the U of M.

He likely would have made the Vikings in 2004, but sustained a dislocated ankle and spiral fracture of the tibia during a summer drill where he had beat one of the starting DBs badly only to have the guy roll him up cheaply after the play.  He retired with an injury settlement and is involved in commercial real estate in the TC.

I also want to wish the Purple Raiders and coach Kehres all the best at getting another title.  Your program is pure class led by a wonderful man.

Small but Slow...you are so right...the BCS is terrible. What could be more exciting than the playoffs?! This is what we live for, eh?

All aboard the Nate Train!!

But as stated before, he's got bigger things to worry about for a couple weeks.

wasn't Cortland St "bothered" by the comment about having three more games??  Sure looks like it motivated their defense --can you imagine what Kmic would've done without them being mad about that comment!!  Sheesh..
