Alliance is a 4 hour drive for me from the Northern suburbs of Cincinnati.  I'm going to leave work a bit early on Friday.

Is anyone intersted in getting together Friday night at Brenda's for a beverage?  Or two?

I'm up for a drink or two.  First round's on me if someone pays for the flight out there.  hscoach, I'm looking at you since it was your idea.

if you start the drive now in your late model german sedan-- you'll be there in time for Friday night, sir

It ain't Brenda's no more!!!  It got bought out by a MUC alum from back in the 90's.  It's called "Wing Warehouse" now. It's a place where you can now get wings and such as well as brew. Kitchen is open til midnight on Friday and the bar is open til 2:30.  Been wanting to try it out.

I think it would be great, provided you can put up with one of the "easily offended" ;D ;D

They even have an outside seating area now (which is closed for the winter, I know, I know) so we can freeze our butts off just like at the game!

For you old buddy, I'll make an exception!

RC,

I'll write you a check for the plane flight when we meet Friday night in A-town.   I'd love to pay for it now, but I don't get paid until Friday.......
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

I'll gladly pay you Friday for a plane ticket today....HSCoach sounds a bit "Wimpy"

I believe it's pretty casual--think BW3.

If it's anything like the Wing Warehouse in Akron then this is correct.  Still a little sad to hear that Brenda's is no more.

mid 30's and partly cloudy is early forecast for ALliance, Saturday.....

WHAT???  Mount Union punter is overlooked on all-region team?? he does look good in warmups....(sarcasm, Pat)

great job on the region squads... I looked with interest at the selections and how the players from out of the North Region  that had a chance to play  against Mount Union..Every player selected from Hobart, Randolph-Macon, and Cortland had great days against Mount...

MUC HAS a punter - who knew?! ;)

I've got a sneaking suspicion that the MUC punter could be Ray Guy, and would get NO love. :D

He needed one more punt to qualify;D

OU#25 - great article and a video to boot! The Capital highlights which Nate just totally clobbered a DB! That was great! Thanks!

To answer all the Blake Elliott 2003 questions:

It was a hamstring injury that hobbled him  ;)  in the Stagg Bowl.

We started running him in the backfield prior to the Stagg Bowl against Linfield and RPI (although he was injured against RPI)

He was and is a great young man that overcame the near death of his brother prior to the season in a car accident.  He spent most of the summer at his brother's bedside in the Twin Cities while he was in a coma.

He did not transfer from the University of Minnesota; that was Ryan Keating the QB.  He played basketball for the U of M.

He likely would have made the Vikings in 2004, but sustained a dislocated ankle and spiral fracture of the tibia during a summer drill where he had beat one of the starting DBs badly only to have the guy roll him up cheaply after the play.  He retired with an injury settlement and is involved in commercial real estate in the TC.

I also want to wish the Purple Raiders and coach Kehres all the best at getting another title.  Your program is pure class led by a wonderful man.
Thanks, Redtooth, and +k for all that.

Funny, rc.  I'll second that.
rc, did you graduate between '79-'99?  If you did, we have a signature in common on our diplomas even though I went to Mount and you went to ONU.  Other early '70's Mount grads do too.  Hint: Initials are DF.
