hscoach, thanks for the insight on the game.  if you guys think it will be competitive into the second half that would be good to see since most of wesley's games were not.

skunk, i am always looking to try new beers, so that sounds good.  time to make the hotel reservations, the super 8 is within walking distance of the college and a short drive to the wing place.  if all goes well and nothing changes between now and when i get home tonight, i hope to see you guys friday evening, that also depends on the pa turnpike and traffic.

The Super 8 is a lo-o-o-ng walk from campus--but it is the closest hotel to campus.  You'll want to drive to the game.  Tailgates are in the parking lot on the southwest corner of the stadium.  The police will be there, but they are really cool as long as you pour the beverage into an opaque container--they'll even watch you pour.  As long as no one gets stupid they let it go.  You will find us a friendly group--until you get on the field!!

Is the Best Western still open?  If my geography 44601 is correct its a few staggers closer to campus.

Knightstalker - Thanks.  If MUC loses I'll be banned from this board.  I banned myself for nearly two years when St.Johns beat Mount in the Stagg in '03 because somehow I felt responsible for the loss.  Is that a sign of schizophrenia or narcissism?

There are three hotels in Alliance proper--Comfort Inn (attached to the (s)mall) 330-821-5555; Holiday Inn Express (probably the nicest of the three) 330-821-6700; and the Super 8 (used to be the Best Western) 330-821-5688.

There is a Mom and Pop place that is supposed to be fairly nice one mile east of town--Country Squire Motel (think 1960's strip hotel) 330-821-2663.

Other than that you would need to look to Canton.  The Holiday Inn and Super 8 are about the same distance from campus--maybe a mile and a half.  The Comfort Inn is about 2 miles from campus.  They are all located on State Street (US 62) west of campus.

P.S.--There is also the Oak Ridge Motel about 5 miles east of campus--Older style as well but attached to a Perkin's Restaurant 330-821-9600.
Reloading--Again, and again, and again....

KD - Subrural is an accurate term, yes, we are surrounded by cow pastures, and occasionally an alligator runs across the practice fields during the mating season, but I have not yet had a kid miss practice to milk the goats.  That, my friends, is rural!

As I'm reading this our stud 8th grade football player is amusing himself with the computer making noises that sound eerily similar to someone stepping on a kitten, over, and over, and over . . .

Someone went and gave him too much Karma!  Now I have to go and smite him just so that he would enjoy the magical number.

He didn't miss practice, we guilted him into coming.

That's still one of the best excuses ever!  I once had a player I excused from practice every Thursday so he could go visit his mother in prison.

When I was in HS, NJ allowed only three days of preseason camp, we used to have 3 a days.  We couldn't start the three a days until 8:00 so the farm kids could get there after milking and the same farm kids had to leave by 5:00 for afternoon milking.  Somewhere between a third and half the team.

I come from a rural area myself.  I actually missed a few days of preseason practice due to an injury from a truck running over my foot while I was working in the hay field.  I actually had more head injuries from cows on the farm than I did playing football.
