I was right, there is a Brent Musberger Drinking Game.  Here is a link:

That game is a lot of fun .... especially with him calling basically every Saturday night game... you get your chances.

Speaking of drinking games...did you guys know that the Cleveland Browns play tonight?  If you're looking to stay sober, you could do a shot every time the Browns score.  I think you're safe.

If you only drink for Browns TD's you won't lose your seat in AA

HURFMUC

That is exactly why we did the little Post Patterns training session at our get together last Friday night.

I haven't seen a quote by HurfMUC yet, so there is no telling whether the lesson sunk in or not.

If I had to guess, it was long since washed away by the end of the night.  Darn, we'll just have to repeat it in Salem this Friday.

hpoefully I finally did this right. I was trying to pay attention in class.

One thing is for sure, these are two totally new teams. Both squads had significant graduations from last year's Stagg Bowl teams. I agree with HSC, this will be close. HSC sized up the game nicely.

I have the utmost respect for Whitewater. They are the defending champions and despite their youth have played like champions. Sure they lost to Stevens Point but they regrouped and have been solid ever since. They were slighted (IMO) when they were given a 5 seed in the West. It is a team that has become a powerhouse while defeating great teams on the road during their playoff run. That's quite an accomplishment for such an inexperienced group. They have been tested and have prevailed. They are a big, well coached and confident team. Also, UWW has a huge advantage in the kicking game.

Mount also was hit hard by graduation and has responded well. Only 3 starters returned on offense but what gifted players. The defense though undersized on the line has grown into a competent unit. Despite their youth, this team has grown and relies on it senior leadership from Micheli and Kmic. Simply put, Mount goes as they go. I thought Beaver provided key leadership for the Warhawks last year and look for Greg and Nate to supply the same for the Raiders this year.

It should be a great Stagg Bowl.

LOL Classic.

Although given the group of people that did some Post Patterns training, its no wonder there are issues.

Funny though.

Small but Slow

We're really racking up the page count today!  What a terrible day to actually work.  Finally got caught up on the 4+ pages since I read this morning and have a few observations.

1.  This game could as easily be another 10-7 (2000 vs. SJU) as it could be a track meet with the winner the team that has the ball last.  I can't see anyone stopping either offense, but weather and other intangibles can influence scoring.  Both teams are rebuilt from last year's teams with a lot of new people on both sides of the ball.  UWW has at least been challenged a couple times this year, that could be an advantage for them, but Kmic, Micheli, Shorts, & the rest of the receiver corps help to equalize that potential advantage.

2.  I'm disappointed in all the talk of drinking games.  As adults (or pretending to be) we should be much more responsible.  Drinking games frequently cause spilled drinks and other waste.  Personally, I take drinking much more seriously than to make a game of it.  Drinking music, now that's something I can get into.

There are differences of opinion regarding what was LK's best team.  My personal choice is the 1993 team.  People forget how good they were. To each his own. This team reminds me of the 1998 team because this season shows again just what a great coach LK is. Congrats also to the WWW warhawks on a remarkable season.

I just reserved rooms at the Ho-Jo for $42.95 per night.  Hopefully they wash the Ho-Smell off of the bedding before we arrive.

Small But Slow and I will be heading out Friday morning from Sunny FL, hope to see you all Friday Night or Saturday Morning.

What time is Stone Station setting up?

very interesting debate.  i have to agree with skunkssidekick and hscoach.  there has to be concern with the mount defense and the yards given up last week.  it is the only time i saw mount play this year and was very surprized at how much trouble they had covering people.  skunks is correct, they only stopped wheaton when the ball was dropped or they got the sack.  if uwww's line is better than wheatons and can give the qb some time, mount may need to score 50 to win.  if wheaton had made a couple of plays that were there, not hopes, the game would have been closer last week.  mount would have needed all of kmics yards to win the game.

because the 2 teams are so familiar with each other, eventhough the players are different, the philosophies are the same, this should be a really good game to watch.  mount has the play makers on offense to move the ball, can they overcome the size difference to score the points i think they will need to win if the defense struggles stopping uwww.  uwww played a pretty undersized and fast defense last week in umhb and were able to run the ball enough to control the game.  i know umhb is not mount, but i did see there defense in person and it was as good if not better than mounts.

skunk, congrats on getting the tickets, i will be with the stone station guys across the field, row 2 near the 50.

Hope the HoJo's still has the great ice cream shops!  12 hour drive with five of us packed in an HHR we might bring our own smells.

<<sigh>>  It's a darn good thing I got my appearance fee paid in full BEFORE the class last Friday and that it's not tied to whether you learned anything.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Hi , guys, new to posting. And yes I'M  a old guy also, so getting quotes is beyond me too. Well unless the kids are around. My question is ,, is Mounts d-backs that bad? , or were the refs just letting   Wheatons line  " play"? I'm not a ref basher, but it seemed to me that I haven't seen that much hand play since my senior prom.

seventies, hs coach, theaprof, skunk & his sidekick, and all the other regulars on the OAC posts:  I look forward to meeting you this weekend in Salem!  Lord knows, I could use a lesson using the post pattern tools.
