Raiderguy!  It is awesome that you are making the trip this year.  Great to hear you are recovered from your little "bump in the road", and I would enjoy catching up with you at the pep rally, or in the parking lot.  To identify yourself, wear a little SJU pin/sticker/etc..on your person along with your Raider gear.

Just TELL ME TDT isn't coming with you!   :o

I'm pretty sure everyone was "pretty up" for last year's Stagg until Whitewater derailed the quest for "One for the other thumb" (sorry don't remember who to credit with this).....

I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

This was posted on the WIAC board...  little article about the championship week gamesmanship taking place.

Interesting article. I don't think that Vince Dooley in his prime could have done a better job of sandbagging than those two.

you can always put the Warden on mute, and play the audio from the D3.com boys.  I think its Pat and Keith on the call, right?

For a noticeable MUC favor to the broadcast, The Ric-ster's audio is available too:

Yeah, hscoach... no slight intended there.  Aren't you going down there also, though?

Small but Slow

One benefit of the early starting time for those watching at home is that the game won't get preempted for the end of a basketball game or another live event.  The beginning of last year's game was aired on ESPNU (which meant I had to go to our living room television because ESPNU is a digital channel on our system that requires a box and we only have one in the house.)  Saturday morning programming on ESPN2 is usually hunting and fishing shows.  Hopefully none of those will run over.

Great preview to the 2007 season but the writer lacks both credibility and hair follicles.  He's not to be trusted and no doubt plagiarized that catch phrase from someone on here.   ;D

Congratulations to Greg! Only one thing left to do...win it all!!

I don't think the Raiders have played their best game...yet. This year it will be different.

About 15 years ago I coached junior bowling at Parkway Lanes (R.I.P) and there was an older gentleman who came in every Saturday morning. He was dressed in all purple...shirt, jacket, hat, pants and maybe the coolest thing, purple cowboy boots. Does anyone know who this gentleman was?

I am new to posting but have been reading for years. This is my first post. I think that the operators of this system are great.

As noted by my screen name I am a MUC alumni.
I am very excited to see a great game on Saturday. In fact I have set my alarm early 5-2-5 (P.W.T.). Pam
Ward Time.

SIT LUX (Latin-for let there me light) and go Raiders.

Very clever on the 5-2-5 P.W.T.       And welcome aboard!

From ESPN's TMQ:

QuoteDouble Bonus Obscure College Score: Mount Union 45, Wheaton of Illinois 24 (Division III semifinal). Mount Union's Nate Kmic became the all-time NCAA leading rusher at 7,986 career yards, surpassing -- surely you know! -- Danny Woodhead. Woodhead, who played for Chadron State, broke the record previously held by -- surely you know! -- R.J. Bowers. Woodhead went undrafted, had a tryout with the Jets and was waived. Bowers, who played for Grove City College, spent a year on the Steelers' practice squad, then carried seven times for Pittsburgh in a late-season game. Kmic has one more appearance, next weekend's Division III championship versus Wisconsin-Whitewater, in which to extend his record. The Division III championship is called -- surely you know! -- the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl. Not to be confused with Wheaton College of Massachusetts, Wheaton College of Illinois, located in Wheaton, Ill., held its annual Christmas Festival three weeks before Christmas.
Go TIGERS!!!

Tough days for Tiger Football.

Easterbrook strikes again. He is to Sportswriting what Pam Ward is to Sportscasting. If you have to make fun of sports your not much of a sportswriter.

Obscure fact: Your employer is broadcasting the Stagg Bowl, moron.
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

Anyone that is interested in the jet flight should call Greg King at Mount Union at  330 823 2282 .  It is a 50 minute flight from Akron/Canton. One arrives in time for the brunch and perhaps a bloody mary or two.

The really crazy thing is that Gregg Easterbrook is actually an excellent reporter EXCEPT for sports; and even manages to stifle his snarky 'inner-child'. :P

I'd be willing to bet the remains of my IRAs that he didn't know ANY of those "surely you know!" bits until he looked 'em up.  But I'd also bet that at least half the readers here already knew at least half of them. ;)
