Seaman is a great prospect.  I saw him a few times and he throws darts, is athletic, and appears to be cut in the same cloth as Micheli....
I think getting him is a coup for LK

Could this answer the QB question for MUC?

Louisville's Seaman will attend Mount Union

I couldn't be happier!  He was a stud in high school running the nearly the exact same offense that Mount runs.  He has a good arm and great feet, but I have always been impressed by his composure under pressure and decision making.  Those were his best attributes at Louisville.

As long as he puts in the work necessary to succeed at the collegiate level, I'd be very surprised to see him not under center at some point in his career.

This is a MAJOR get for LK.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Those are big-time stats at the highschool level.  Plus, that kid has very good size.  I agree... this is a very good recruit for Mount Union...

Hope all of you are having a good offseason...

Not that I am complaining, but how does a kid like that not get a scholarship offer?  With his stats and size, it doesn't make sense.

The Northeastern Buckeye Conference, of which Louisville is a member, though a great OHSAA DII/ DIII conference, hasn't exactly been a hotbed of scholarship activity.  I think Matt Rycraft from West Branch going to Youngstown in the early 00's was the last football scholarship I can think of.  Bobby Swallow followed Rycraft as the QB at West Branch and people asked the same thing of him that you are asking of Seaman.  He turned out OK at W&J...and Rycraft didn't exactly have a great career at YSU.

Most of the NBC schools are small country schools so they have that "small school" mentality.  Plus a lot of the coaches are small college guys who seem to steer their kids to D3 colleges.  It isn't a big disappointment for a kid who played in the NBC if he ends up at an OAC school and doesn't get a D1 scholly.  It's not like Florida or Oklahoma or Texas.  It's hard to explain.  Most kids in that conference, once they get to HS ball, have given up the dream of being a Buckeye or whatever and have concentrated on becoming a Raider or Muskie or Yellow Jacket or Crusader.  During my era the OAC was chock full of kids from the 8 NBC schools.  I don't know, it's hard to explain.  It's considered a HUGE deal when YSU or Kent or even Ashland shows interest in you...

JK

Check that...

As I hit "post" I remembered that Chad Hoobler from Carrollton went to Ohio State on scholarship, though he has since transferred.

DeVon Torrence from Canton South is still at OSU, though he was sort of a "package deal" to get his younger brother DeVoe, who transferred to Massilon for his Senior year of HS and then lost his Scholly to OSU because of some questionable activity with underage girls.  Not saying DeVon isn't worthy of his scholarship, but make no mistake, DeVoe was the target.

One other one. Jerald Robinson, a JR wide receiver from Canton South committed to that dreaded school up north this week.

The D1 recruiters have a cookie cutter mentality for their QB's. I also think with the advent of QB camps that most coaches get kids at an early age and hang with them.  There are some great high school QB's out there.  Seaman may have lacked 2/10ths on his 40 or something that which IMO is overrated.  I think that Seaman could have helped someone in the MAC, at least...

I have it that Morring is returning, too.

That is what I was thinking, MAC or maybe a DIAA (I don't recognize the FBS or FCS name changes) which could offer him a deal.  Maybe the Financial Aid Package at MTU was worthwhile and he wanted to compete for National Championships...
