St. John's has no interest in traveling any further than about Eau Claire, Wis., for a regular-season non-conference game.

I can attest to that.  The Warhawks traveled to Collegeville in 02 for a NC game but Coach G wouldn't return the favor for a home/home match up the following year.  The story goes that he told Brez the only way he would make a 6 hour bus ride to southeast Wisconsin was if he had to for a play-off game.  I recall the Johnnies being none too happy in 05 when that scenario became a reality because the Warhawks were the higher seed.   :D

You can add '06 &'08 to that painful bus ride to WW.  >:(

It would only be a short bus ride to MSP and another one to MUC from Akron/Canton. The only other issue is their previous visits to Alliance have been pretty painful in their own right. Also because of tournament seedings.
It still would be  a great KICK-OFF to the season in '10 & "11. Maybe just a one way by the Raiders but I don't think that is a deal LK would be looking for.

Speaking of KICK-OFF, when is the '09 going to be available Pat? ;D

Basketball is over how about moving football up to the top of PP?

WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

Wait a second...

It's baseball's turn, as all of those OAC teams take the swings at MUC!  :)

Please God....If you would grant me this one wish, let Notre Dame D1 play Notre Dame D2 in their first NCAA season......and let D2 Notre Dame win.....and I PROMISE to never make fun of Michigan losing to Appalachian State EVER again. Please God, Please! ....AMEN.

I hope open prayers are not a violation of any terms of conduct hereabouts. If so, pray for me!
I tried but my daughters boyfriend will not be attending MUC.  He liked the school but they don't have the major he wants.  He was ready to go to Hiram but the financial aid package they promised him ended up being 1/2 what they told him it would be.  So where diod he end up?  Notre Dame College.  So I will get to see him play next year in the JV game at MUC (they are playing a JV schedule as a club team next year.  (He scored 32 TD's 1500 yards rushing state championship etc., etc.) NDC has applied for NCAA d2 status and will be there likely in 2011 so will probably play one year at NAIA.

I also got my nephew to look at MUC and he visited and liked it a lot.  This was at the end of his Junior year.  Unfortunately for MUC he got a couple of "better" offers and is going to be playing on saturday afternoons in Columbus.

Haven't set a date on Kickoff yet, nor have Keith and Gordon and I really sat down to talk about what should be included. But ... yeah ... August. :)

Working primarily on schedules these days. Making a dent, a little over a third of the way through.

How does participation in a sport at the "club" level effect NCAA elidgibility? Any body know the rules?

Pat Coleman

To my understanding, it doesn't at all. But I would check with a compliance officer before making a move based on that advice.

Typically, club sports are sponsored by the college/university and not by the NCAA.  If that is the case, the club sport would not adversely effect NCAA eligibility.
