I find this rather uspetting.  Who needs $200 bad enough to sell a championship ring?

The last time I reported one on eBay it turned out to be stolen, so if your missing about half a pound from your third finger, check it out.

I've had my bad times, but if they foreclosed on my house, I'd probably be in the front yard with my old tarnished track medals in their frame. As the ad says, some things are priceless

BTW-I was going to make a comment about why would anybody want a ring with somebody else's name on it and I had the presence of mind to look up at Travis Fryman's jersey hanging on my wall. But as my kids say, "That's different"

As someone who has worked hard my entire life and paid those taxes too. I take exception to your insinuation that there might be someone out there that can use help in these difficult times. Losing my job two years ago in the building industry it has been a tough uphill climb. Looking for work and taking anything to keep the lights on, I was glad there were some progams to help me when I suffered a stoke with no job or insurance. I lost my house to forclosure too. But a program in my state gave me 6 months to buy the house back after the Sheriffs sale. I busted my hump to get my home back and three days before I had to move out the bank gave me a reinstatement of my loan. I was lucky.
Yea you got it I was lucky. I am now gainfully employed now and paying taxes again so maybe I can help someone else.

sincerely,

Blessed.

Now back to football.
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

Small but Slow

The deflation in housing market throughout the country has put many of us in a huge bind.  I have no problem with people getting help to recover the value lost in their homes.  I do resent that many used equity loans made when the values were inflated to pay for expensive vacations and other luxury items getting forgiveness on that money.  Enough of that from me, though.

Looks as though Mount's had a productive early signing season.  In the past, though, haven't a lot of the big recruits come in May and June after DI & II schools have completed their signings?

You mean like living and working in El Paso, TX for almost a year now while your wife and son still live in Georgetown, KY because you can't sell the house you thought you got a great deal on 4 years ago but now is worth less than you still owe on it, even though you thought you were being smart and buying a home for $40k less than you were approved for in a mortage.

Yeah, it's put some of us in  a very serious bind...

You have to go where the jobs are, but you can't sell your house to go there...

Pat Coleman

Or living with your parents for eight months while you wait for your house to sell halfway across the country, hoping that the second contract on your house that is supposed to go to closing a week from today actually goes through. Then looking at living with your parents for at least another six months in order to try to recover some of the lost value so you can make a down payment on your next house?

And I never missed a payment, never lost my job. But it hits honest, hard-working Americans too, SaintsFAN.

PC,

You know I didn't mean it like that.  I'm saying there are people sitting home, just collecting checks from the government.

I'm not saying anything about hard working people like yourself, JK and raiderguy.  You three actually prove my point, that people can get through this.    I'm talking about the people who aren't willing to roll up their sleeves..... I should've been more clear.

Mr Ypsi,

No thanks.... the two groups on that board remind me of 6 year olds with the way they go at it.

Hold on to your teaching job Seventies, there aren't many jobs out there for folks over 60.  Being unemployed at 60 is very interesting.  You're too young for social security or to draw on your 401K  (oh, yea, what 401K ???) and too old to be employed (illegal or not age descrimination does exist).

Thank goodness my wife still has a job.

Oh, Saints, tell me where I can get that government hand out for doing nothing.  I haven't found it yet.

Well, I do still work, I just do it for free for the Red Cross.

There's a million stories in this wonderful world called the real estate market........

Talked to a guy while in CA who thought he had gotten a great deal by moving 50 miles inland near the desert and buying a 3 bedroom home for around $550,000.  He indicated that currently it was worth around $200,000.

For those of us who have to put up with this crappy NE Ohio weather, our one silver lining is that we have one of the most affordable housing markets in the country.  So I feel LUCKY (sarcasm) that my house is only worth about 5% less than I owe on it.  YYYIPPEEEE!   ::)

The county government doesn't agree with you.  If they did your poperty taxes would have been lowered. :-\
