Martins Ferry sent at least the two Bruney's (Zac and Trevor) along with Chas Yoder.

It's tough to predict a five star D3 recruit.  I don't recall much hoopla when Nate Kmic or Greg Micheli committed to MUC, but they worked out okay.  Anyone willing to make an educated guess of which recruit will be the next Kmic or Micheli?  Too many factors to determine ultimate success at this level.  I think its easier to predict the standouts at D1.  At D3 they all start out on pretty equl status and prove themselves over time.  At D1 the schools have invested too much time recruiting and with limited scholarships to miss the mark very often.  Top D3 teams bring in a slew of freshmen each year and trust that several will develop over time.

I think quite a few MUC players have come from the Mentor area (Mentor HS and Mentor Lake Catholic HS).

Welcome aboard Bump.

You should be able to enjoy all the friendly banter here and by all means venture over to some of the other boards like the West for the MIAC and WIAC to name a few. And if you really feel froggy, jump into a subject and incure the wrath of our Worshipful Master Pat Coleman. He is the founder of this madness and mayhem.

(Actually he is a great guy but don't tell him I said it. ;))
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

I know I don't post a lot, but I do read quite a bit on here.  After seeing all these high school players committed to mount, it got me wondering: What high schools have sent the most players to mount who have been major contributors.  Are there any high schools who have sent multiple kids who ended up as all-americans or all-conference performers.  Just curious what you all think.

What about Falls?  I believe they gave the Raiders a couple of their best ever in Ballard and Marino as well as DB Mike Miller who was also an AA.  I'm sure there are other Black Tigers I'm forgetting, but that's a great top 3.

I would have to imagine that there are numerous HS that have produced multiple All-Americans, but I thought of two more...

Mogadore--Chuck Moore and Johnny Josef

Alliance--Kris Bugara, Larry Kinnard and maybe Mark Black?  I can't remember if Black was ever an AA, but he was definitely an All-OAC guy and a special award winner at least.

Information for recruits going to Mount Union and Ohio Northern seems to be available but I can't find much if anything from the other OAC schools. Can anyone post info or links to lists of players going to other OAC schools?

The SID's from the other schools aren't releasing the names.  And until the hiring of Lenny Reich at Mount, there wasn't much MUC recruit info on the web either.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

From a little closer to campus (but not as close to Alliance High): West Branch gave MUC all-Americans in Scott Woolf and Russ Kring in the 80's and Jason Candle in the 90-00's.

And in perhaps their biggest coup... not getting me from there  ;D

Any particular reason for schools not releasing names?

Mount Union 2009 Football Recruits
For Immediate Release: May 15, 2009

(ALLIANCE, OH)—Cleveland Benedictine senior Anthony Urbania has committed to attend Mount Union College and compete on the football team this Fall.

Urbania, a 6-0, 205-pound running back, was a three-time All-Ohio and all-Northeast Ohio selection for Coach Art Bortnik at Benedictine High School.  The former Northeast Ohio Offensive Back of the Year rushed for over 3,500 yards and had 34 touchdowns in his career.  Urbania is an undeclared major and the son of Doreen and Dean Urbania of Wickliffe, Ohio.

It is my opinion that this young man will make a very big impact on the field for  the raiders.  I saw him play in HS this year and he is an impressive back.

I believe Scott Gindlesberger also came from the Falls.  He may not have been AA but had a pretty decent senior season.
