I believe Scott Gindlesberger also came from the Falls.  He may not have been AA but had a pretty decent senior season.

Wow, I didn't know Gindlesberger was also from the Falls.  He was an AA too.  Falls has to be the frontrunner.

Mount Union 2009 Football Recruits
For Immediate Release: May 15, 2009

(ALLIANCE, OH)—Cleveland Benedictine senior Anthony Urbania has committed to attend Mount Union College and compete on the football team this Fall.

Urbania, a 6-0, 205-pound running back, was a three-time All-Ohio and all-Northeast Ohio selection for Coach Art Bortnik at Benedictine High School.  The former Northeast Ohio Offensive Back of the Year rushed for over 3,500 yards and had 34 touchdowns in his career.  Urbania is an undeclared major and the son of Doreen and Dean Urbania of Wickliffe, Ohio.

It is my opinion that this young man will make a very big impact on the field for  the raiders.  I saw him play in HS this year and he is an impressive back.

I have seen his name on a few Notre Dame boards as a FB/S recruit that attended a couple of ND games during his jr year.  Was there any injury by Urbania this past season or anything?

Cedarburg's Zak Suhar will play football at Mount Union, the reigning Division III national champion. He is a kicker and punter who made all-North Shore Conference two times.

Another kicker?  Are you kidding me?  Guess LK is afraid of wearing them out kicking extra points and needs to stock up.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Sounds to me like the assistant coaches REALLY paid attention when LK said "go get me some kickers"....

In the Stagg Bowl this year field position after kickoffs was decidedly in UWW's favor.  Seems that LK is trying to eliminate that shortcoming with all the kicking recruits.  During the OAC season it hasn't been a concern for a while, but in close games the field position battle can make a difference.  Not to be too cliche but a team is only as strong as its weakest link.

Coach G and I were going to watch the Mitchell Spring Game last night and were at Beef O' Brady's before the game.  Game was cancelled and Mitchell coaches started coming in to Beefs.  The slogan on the back of their T-Shirts was:

A team is only as strong as its weakest link.

anybody with a scouting report for how Monty will be this year at E & H?

The kicker thing is LK's secret weopon for increasing attendance this year. All I ever hear is people don't go to the games because Mount wins by a blow-outs and it isn't exciting so.......... Every time Mount crosses the opponents 50 yd line Lk is going to kick field goals. The scores will be more competitive and thousands and thousands of fans will again flock to the stadium to watch the new and exciting brand of Mount football.

You've heard of  pro-style, wing T (thanks Augustana), spread, option, wildcat and now you have
The KICK-A-PALOOZA offense.  ??? Sure it is going to put some extra pressure on the defense with short fields if the kick is missed but think of the extra revenues from the increase in attendance! ;) we will be kicking so much we will want to have several kickers to keep their leg fresh.

BRILLIANT!
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

In case anyone cares:

Following the 2008 season, my HC was unceremoniously relieved of his duties despite delivering our first playoff appearance in seven years and really turning a dead program around.  He moved on and while I would have greatly enjoyed moving with him as an assistant, things didn't work out because of geography and logistics.  He did write me a letter of rec. that helped me get in the door in a new school district near my home and I have been substitute teaching since January.

In the fall we will open a new high school that is top notch and we are fielding a Frosh and JV team.  As of right now, it looks like I will be taking part in a teacher-in-residence program at the HS and will at least be the Offensive Coordinator for the freshmen and maybe HC as well.  I'm extremely excited about the opportunity and looking forward to building a legacy with these kids.  I've always been involved with historic programs from my own days at CJ to ONU and then coaching at Tempe HS (one of the few HS's in AZ that's over 100 years old).  Opening a new school will be a challenge but I can't wait to take it head on!

Good luck.  Keep your eyes open... I'm sure you're going to see more than a few curveballs as a new program..  This will be a great experience for you and something to highlight on your resume (you can probably remove the played for C-J now).

Congratulations!  I am just completing my first year at a brand new Middle School as the FB and Track Head Coach.  Although you will be opening a new HS, I'm sure you'll run into some of the same things we did this year.  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to message me.  Just make sure to stick to your guns and be very disciplined from the start.  You have an opportunity to create all the tradition at that school!

Raiderpa, Monty should field a pretty good team this year. He has an awesome running back. ( I believe Caleb Jennings is his name) and a lot of experience on both sides of the ball.
On the other hand, I believe this will be his first year without any Mount men on the coaching staff.

Monty had his staff at MUC on weds .,,so the new guys are learning MUC ball
