The War Between the States ended 144 years ago, and most of us, who can read, write and reason, know the outcome.

You're absolutely right Frank, but there's a big difference between "know" and "accept". A disappointingly large number of people haven't gotten to accept yet. Try a Google search on League of the South and/or Southern Partisan magazine for further evidence.

I was hoping I'd never see that QB from Hopewell-Louden again. He sent my Mogadore kids home dazed and confused a couple of years ago in the state Semi's..

Unfortunately enough many of the same principles popularly attributed to the war and later the civil rights movement are still being dealt with today.  Even some so-called enlightened folk still differentiate between people by skin color.  I don't condone but recognize the reality.  As much as we all claim we've progressed as a society, those who can't accept it exist and voice their opinions strongly.  As a first hand observer and participant, I wish we could move on, but it's a double edged sword.  Coaching in the environment is difficult.  Both sides claim favoritism or discrimination either way.  Things are getting better but will take time.

Hey, if I have anyone who asked for a Garcon card and didn't get one or anyone who failed to ask, send me a PM one here with you address. I picked up some more.

PS I may have a couple of extra Rob Adamson cards in a week or two, but you can't have my signed one ::)

Too bad Kern never had one.

It is the same list. I missed the post with the link.

Don't know a lot about the individual players but Snell did get some kids out of some pretty good programs.

reality check

First morning of summer workouts/conditioning and we had 30+ kids out at 6:00 am.  Awesome!  I was totally surprised.  They have the choice of morning or evening workouts with a minimum of attending 4 per week.  To have 31 kids out (keep in mind that we only have 9th and 10th graders) is a great start.  I was fully expecting 5-10 kids for the first morning workout.

Pumped to be getting kids back out on the field.

RC- That many kids getting out of bed at 6:00 to work the first week of summer shows some strong commitment.  Best wishes, I hope the numbers stay strong.  This is our week off.  We get back in the weight room next week.  Do you have 7 on 7 during the summer?

reality check

We have a couple passing leagues over the summer but we're installing an entirely new offense so we are being very selective as to whom and when we play.  Right now, we don't even know who the QB will be so we need to move slow and steady.  We plan to spread teams out and we'll pass to keep the defense honest but we'll run the QB a lot.  I don't want to call it "Wildcat" because the spread system we use has a lot of passing involved, we just know that we will be a run heavy system until the passing game develops more effectively.
