Alliance and Mount Union lose a long time fan: Mrs. Linta
I can't imagine the pain and suffering though of being a 60+ year Cleveland sports fan.

I know a lot of you guys on here are teachers (or retired teachers, congrats 70s) so I thought I would share this column.  It's an old Malcolm Gladwell column from the New Yorker, but it's an interesting read if you have some time to kill.  It deals with teachers as well as QB's, so I thought it was relevant in a "It's June and it's slow" kinda way.

70's,
Think about it, she was in her mid-30's when we were born!  :o  That should make you feel younger.
RIP Mrs. Linta.

Thanks, Dr. Acula.
I highly recommend Malcolm's latest book, Outliers.  He's an excellent writer.

I still have my 92 1/2 year old mother who made most of Raider66's trips to Alliance (she drove) over the last five years he was alive. She still has never spent a night in  the hospital. Greatest generation, I think so.

I'm a big fan of Gladwell.  His work is always very well researched and he takes different angles on stuff.  Sometimes it's too far out there, but it always makes you think.  I recommend his first two books as well (Tipping Point and Blink).

I wonder if the Melberger folks realize the football season ended 6 months ago?
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Wideout

That award was presented at sports banquet at the end of the year.
They had to make a new trophy some dropped the other one

reality check

ONU announced today that former Polar Bear Devin Russell has been added to the staff to coach the offensive line.  Russell was a three-year letter winner on the OL during his playing days at ONU and spent last year coaching at Morehead State.  Congrats on coming home Devin.

Why would anyone want to leave Morehead State?

My thoughts on your top 10:

-I obviously think MUC will be #1. No sense in debating or justifying it.
-I agree with 2 and 3. It is kind of a toss-up. Capital needs consistency and the tough D we have all come to expect. I can't believe I'm seeing Otterbein being mentioned as a possible playoff contender again.
-Steaming Pile-I don't know if an experienced quarterback can help a team that hasn't had an offense in years. However, now that Snell isn't calling the shots on offense, it seemed like they picked things up at the end of the season
-I think ONU bounces back this year. How many years in a row can injuries hurt them? I'm seeing them maybe in the top 3 this season.
-After that, its a crapshoot.

Thanks for the preview. I always wait for it at the beginning of the summer.

He was a GA there.  I'm assuming his time was up.
