Nice article. Pretty much agree.

Did see one typo you might want to fix:

Offensively, the Raiders loose the greatest QB/RB tandem in school history, but the cupboard is hardly bare with six starters and most of the back-ups from '08 returning.

ONU announced today that former Polar Bear Devin Russell has been added to the staff to coach the offensive line.  Russell was a three-year letter winner on the OL during his playing days at ONU and spent last year coaching at Morehead State.  Congrats on coming home Devin.

Why would anyone want to leave Morehead State?

He was a GA there.  I'm assuming his time was up.

My Middle School Humor did not translate in my post.

How about this:

Why would anyone want to leave More-Head State?

Nice..

The last couple of years, when I was there, UK Army ROTC did a lot of co-op training with Morehead.  I've actually been there several times.  Funniest shirt I saw while I was there (worn by a guy spotted outside a frat house)...

Morehead, KY... (on the front)
It really IS that friendly! (on the back)

In actuality, it really is a pretty place, if you like the middle of nowhere...

Trivia question: What Super Bowl winning QB played at Morehead St.?

Too easy, at least take the ball off the tee and pitch it.

Phil (Phil Who to Giants fans day of the draft) Simms.

I had a friend whose biggest dream was to be a cheerleader at Morehead St.  She wanted to jump up and down shouting Morehead, Morehead!

Certainly glad I didn't say anything sooner about Morehead State - this way I get to out my stupidity on my own terms! :P  I thought you were talking about Minnesota (except that is Minnesota State - Moorhead). :-[

I have a friend who was a cheerleader for Morehead.  She was the tiny girl who they threw up in the air and the top of the pyramid.

We (TMC) were also their Homecoming victim in 1998.  They had a QB named David Dinkins who played for the Bills for a couple years.  Dude had 200 yards rushing at halftime and each of the 1st two times he touched the ball on the day, he ran for 60+ yards and a TD.  It was 37-29 at halftime and I think 64-36 final.  Funny thing is we gave up 550 yards of offense and 60+ pts, yet had TWO defensive players of the game   ???..

Not really a place where you stop/look around and think "Phil Simms played here"... more like "why are the toilets not seperated by walls in the visitor lockerroom??"  They were lined up like urinals..  weird, those people in Eastern Kentucky

Small but Slow

A friend at Mount back in the 80's actually attended Morehead State as a freshman.  He had some hilarious shirts from parties there.  I would probably be banned from the board if I quoted some of them here.  He had a good time there, but his parents wouldn't pay for him to go back because of his second semester grades.  At that time it was a top teacher education college aka party school.  Bob also shared sentiments about the athletic facilities that mirror Saints Fans.  I watched the Super Bowl Simms played in with Bob.  We had to do a shot of tequila every time MSU was mentioned during the broadcast.  We actually killed the bottle, but not due to mention of Simms' alma mater.

+k for you, my friend.  It may have seemed easy to you, but you would be surprised the number of folks, even at the University who say, "Really?!?!?!?"

I forgot to include my disclaimer at the bottom of the article:

Hey Gang!  Happy Summer to all.  Well......what PASSES for summer in beautiful NE Ohio.

Jr. is off to the Mount football camp today.

Seventies - I already told him if Kevin is coming across the middle he can give him a "nice to see you again" shot!   ;D

Actually, I had to remind him that this is not a TACKLE football camp, and to just shut up, listen, learn, and have fun.

More later.......out!

Nate has not had anything as far as my source knows.

Greg did have a tryout with a Canadian team but nothing has come from it.

They both have their degrees as would be expected and Greg is looking forward to grad school.
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

Thanks bud, things don't look quite so bad since I don't need to do anything further for the school.

Headed out to Atwood with my former Co-Head coach (daughter's yearbook advisor) tomorrow moring for a couple of days. Was starting to think I should sell that travel trailer.
Sounds like a plan putting Moggy in the rear views for a few days and just being Dad.

Speaking of Atwood....  Did everyone see he was elected to the M Club HOF?  Along with Mike Elder, Mike Hallett, Jim Ballard, and Ed Bubonics.  That is a pretty good group of football players!!!

Congrats to the Raider football players who competed and garnered awards in outdoor track:

RB Scott Thomas was All-OAC thanks to his 2nd place finish in the 100m dash.  He also finished 6th in the 200.

FB/LB Judd Lutz was All-America, All-OAC and Academic All-OAC by finishing 2nd at the OAC meet in shot and 6th at the National Championship meet.

Between these two, Cecil and Pierre it's great to see that running track is much more than 'just staying in shape' during the off season.
