I'm looking forward to seeing Lutz back at LB this season.  He should be a beast between the tackles.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Did everyone see he was elected to the M Club HOF?  Along with Mike Elder, Mike Hallett, Jim Ballard, and Ed Bubonics.  That is a pretty good group of football players!!!

First Group from the Championship Years:

M Club HOF

Not to discount the accomplishments of those who came before or after this group, but these are the men who finally pushed MUD over the top, made it to the Stagg and won the first title.  Their performance through the playoffs and in the Stagg Bowl paved the way for the remaining teams who have won the title.  Prior to '93 MUC was a regional power that was only good enough to lose in the semis to the eventual national champion.
IMO more guys from this team deserve M Club status.
The men honored were the obvious, but others from that team are deserving.

I agree completely!  This team put MUC over the top.  It takes a special bunch to think they can do something that hasn't been done before.  They laid out the blue print and gave everyone else the confidence to believe they could do it.  I imagine there are some other players from this team that will get in, but it won't be until next year or the year after, because they weren't seniors on this team.

Also, it is nice to see Mike Elder go in with this group, but he actually graduated the year before I think.  Too bad cause he sure deserved a championship if anyone did!

Congrats to Coach Mike on the M Club HOF.

The obvious problem with inducting guys like this during football season is that many of them are busy on Friday nights and Saturday afternoons.

3 days at Atwood Lake Park camping with the kids changed my outlook on life. I have one very important job: Taking care of my kids. I was so mellow I took them golfing yesterday. Can't describe the patience it takes to golf with a 12 year old boy and a visually impaired 17 year old girl.

They taught me a lot.     ;)

Hopefully see some of you at LK/VK football camp and/or "Football by Drake" at Kent State/ Off to lay down in a real bed.

Coach Mike: Hope to stick my head in the door and say Hi when my daughter does her visitation there

Thanks to Mark Grossman for his interesting analysis of the upcoming OAC football season at the Mount Union football website. I desperatly needed a football fix. Hopefuuly ,Mark's article will generate some football discusson on this board.

Thoughts from the Fantasy football world

Possible Fantasy Sleeper: Austin Collie/Pierre Garcon, WR—The winner of the battle to be the third wide receiver behind Reggie Wayne and Anthony Gonzalez in Indianapolis will have significant fantasy value.

Right now, the two players appear to be fairly even. Collie, who made 106 catches last season playing for BYU, has sure hands and was productive at the highest level of college football. Garcon, in his second season out of D-III Mount Union, is a player the Colts seem to love who has similar physical size and tools to former Colt Marvin Harrison.

The two may split time during the season, but it is more likely that Peyton Manning becomes comfortable with one of them and that player starts all year. We just don't know who that will be yet.

Collectively, we project the third wide receiver for the Colts to catch 68 passes for 794 yards and five touchdowns.

Also got a news blurb through this morning that Greg Micheli may have gotten workout with the Chicago
Cubs

and to save you the trip, he did play two years of baseball for Mount according to his Bio at MUC.edu

Will be around campus the next few days will Kevin for LK Camp. Kevin really doesn't love football as much as he loves this camp.

Jr. just finished his camp on Saturday.  He really liked T Morring (kids called him T-Pain), Petrizullo (sp), Cecil, AJ, and Roger.  He was whipped by the time camp was over.

I had "heard" that LK let his assistants run this camp, and stood back and observed.  WRONG!  I think he only knows how to coach one way, and that is full-out, all the time.  My son was impressed with how much LK was involved in all aspects of the camp.  It was a great learning lesson for Jr.

It's sad, but it seems the College is one of the only things doing well in Alliance these days.  I was just on campus last month and every time I go back it gets harder and harder to recognize.  Just perpetual improvements to campus.  It's hard to think that when I was graduating 7 years ago there was no Bracy Hall, no apartment style dorms and the frat houses were still alive in their ancient, less than clean glory.  Ahhh, the good old days...
