I'm with Blutarsky, Bump the Mount experience is the best. Our son graduated in '07 and we've got enough Mount stuff to have a heckuva garage sale--but it's not for sale. Enjoy the experience. We still make a couple of games a year.

The price of a ticket at Mount seals the deal. You can see every game including the Stagg and not spend what you would on a good Columbus weekend.

Bump-This is just a hunch, but I'm thinking in 4-5 years you'll have purple jackets, seat cushions, hats, purple everything.

perhaps if you tailgate in the Gulling parking lot you might find out how to get a suit of purple

My wife and I attended the Mount Union preview this past weekend with my son. I am more convinced that Jeff made the correct decision in selecting a college. I did have one real problem with the 2 days at Mount. I had some trouble buying things in the bookstore. Our high schools team’s archrival is the polar bears. The purple polar bears.

and dont worry about Jackson, after a year or so in the Mount family and you will have a sense of pride about purple

Wasn't Matsakis supposed to be the savior on offense when he came back to Capital?

I said it then and I'll hold my ground, it looks goofy as hell to have your OC be a former college kicker, even if he was an alum.  It puts CAP in a bad spot as far as finding a capable OC this late in the off-season but other than a feel good story having a CAP alum calling the offense, I don't think they'll miss him in Bexley.

I guess he got to be a RB coach in the CFL because of what he was able to do with the CAP offensive rushing attack: No less than TWO Capital RB's amassed a mind-boggling 300+ yards on the season.  Those are numbers you build a reputation on!!!

Don't let the door hit you on the butt on your way out......

I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Guys thanks for all of the advice. A DE on the 2007 Mount team was from NC. We know his parents and I don't think they ever rid themselves of purple phobia. 4 years not one purple shirt. I am not a dyed in the wool Viking so I may get over the purple thing before long. The "M" thing I am not so sure about.

70's, I may start with a purple seat cushion

The Stark Co. East West All Star game is this Sat. at Fawcett. 3 Mount players on East and 1 on west. A few other players going to OAC schools on both teams. The QB from Louisville will start for the East. Surprising but not 1 future Mount kicker in the game.  :o The price is right $7.00 at the gate. You have to like that 70's.

Bump,

Wait 'till you see the Raiders in their black shirts and white pants.  You'll think you died and went to Perry!

Forget the hs stuff, embrace the purple.  It is a regal hue.

In 1960 the Ohio North-South game was played at Fawcett Stadium. Roger Staubach sat the bench for the South, not playing a down. The South starting QB was the nephew of a South coach - went to Bowling Green and barely played there.

Good to see Mike Jorris mentioned for his great career at Mount Union. He was very selfless and really put the good of the team first. I particularly enjoyed the 70-0 pasting of John Carroll in the Shula his junior year. It was bombs away all night. The offense changed with the emergence of Nate Kmic and to a lesser extent Greg the next year. Mike Jorris handled the moves LK made with a lot of class and acted like the captain of a football team should act. He reminded me of Gary Smeck, another great quarterback loved by his teammates for his true deep purple color.

Bump as an OSU bleed scarlet and grey guy I transfered to Mount and graduated from there in '72. The colors work well together. I do not get the chance to see the Raiders in person much because I am living in Johnnie Land. They have allowed me to be a member of their fan base even when I wear my purple. Their colors are also red so you see it is a great combo platter.

If you think an "M" on your hat is bad if you travel back in the archivies you will find that for some reason when I attended Mount our letter jackets were blue wool with maize leather sleeves sporting a big M on the chest. ??? Try  wearing that in Columbus to an OSU game and survive! I did, but it was shaky. So be glad we finally got away from those colors from the team up north. :P
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

Is Kevin Brayer from Hoover on the roster?

Here is a link to the roster for the game. I think the East picked up a few kids from GlenOak. Garcia the Head Coach from GO is coaching the East. No, Kevin Brayer isn't on the roster. Big smart kid hard to crack the starting line up at Hoover the last 2 or 3 years. He moved to Texas after his freshman year. Came back a little behind the curve. If he works hard he could help the Case program.

As long as LK doesn't start running the wing T I can handle the Black and white.
