Capital promoted from within.  You kinda figured they would have to this late in the game.  Henry Stanford is the new OC.  here is the link to the release on Capital's website:

Went to the movies last night and saw a preview for this Tony Dungy Red Zone 09. It seems pretty cool. Some of you other high school football coaches may want to take your teams to see it. I have read a couple of his books and he is a great guy with a good message. Here is a link for more info:  http://www.ncm.com/Fathom/Sports/TonyDungy_RedZone.aspx
A few more weeks fellows.

I am so ready for football season.

Is it September yet?
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

It's gotta be September somewhere. ???

Actually my wife and I have been signing kids up for Mogadore Youth Football all-weekend at the Summer Festival and the Youth Football camp that the HS team does for the kids is next week.

Was just outside and it FEELS like September outside tonight.

MYF is going retro. Metallic green helmets with no stripes or emblems ala Mogadore HS in the 80's

Hang on, football is coming to a practice field near within a week.
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

It felt like October last night at Fawcett. It wasn't much of a game but at least I had the chance to watch some football. The East dominated the West. The West O-line had no answers for the East's D-line. The West had 22 rushes for negative 19 yards. The East also picked off 2 West passes. Two of the West's first 3 plays resulted in interceptions. Seaman hooked up with Mathie for the 1st East TD. The East's middle guard Williams from Glenoak headed for the University of Toledo just dominated. He had 3 sacks and a tackle or two for a loss. The series is all tied up at 10 games apiece.

I thought Seventiesraider was bringing up some old position from 40 years ago.  ;)

it was only 32 years ago I was playing middle guard in our HS monster defense.  I never did understand the difference between a monster backer and a line backer.

Nightstalker, if I remember correctly a monster backer or monster man moves a great deal dependent on the offensive set. He could line up at middle backer or could line up outside of either outside linebacker. It's kind of a cross between a linebacker and safety.

Came across a nice women's MUC shirt this weekend with the tags still on it. Unfortunately, the woman did not come along with it :). Anyone out there interested in it? Let me know

Our Strong Safety was called a Monster back when we played a Cover-3 (Green) when I was in HS.  He would play the flat on the strong side.  We played a 5-2 and our normal Cover-3 would roll to the strength, the corner on the play side would play the flat, free safety would play deep outside 3rd, SS in the Middle 3rd and other Corner would have deep outside 3rd on the weak side.  SS and FS were pretty much interchangeable on our team.  DE on the non-play side would drop and be responsible for the weak side flat.
