How good is the new QB or has a definite starter not been named at the great Mt Union? What about running back, any of you guys got the scoop?

Who are the Big New Names, not the preseason All Americans, the guys who year in and year out emerge out of nowhere?

Wait a couple weeks and you'll be able to read the '09 Mount Union season preview here:

www.mtunionfootball.com

The first draft is written and currently being reviewed by the editor and his staff.

I am looking forward to reading the preview. How close is it to being posted on mtunionfootball.com?

He's also coaching in that new football league, which starts play this September.  I don't remember which team, but all four teams have Head Coaches in place with experience as an NFL head coach.  I believe Jim Fassell is another coach in this league.

United Football League
Dennis Green = San Francisco
Jim Haslet = Orlando
Jim Fassell = Las Vegas
Ted Cottrell = New York

They will also play games in in Hartford, Sacramento, and Los Angeles

Gonna miss Nate running to the offical in the end zone to hand him the football.

OAC Media Day at the Hall of Fame in Canton August 11th at 10:30 AM. Sounds like a day out for all us house-husbands

BTW Facebook fans be sure to add the Mount Union Purple Raiders official facebook page. Get all the SID's releases online. Many other MUC football sites on Facebook. I personnally discourage the Larry Kehres is God site. Got a feeling LK would take a dim view of that

I owe Coach Hallet a thank you so I'm pretty sure I'll be there.

Got my folding chair with the leg rest, umbrella and iPod in the car. Ready for practices to start. Better get my chores caught up.

BTW Runyr - I keep getting an email that this alumni site has found my lost friend James. When did I lose you?
(Note: Bovyer and I are missing the last two years of the sixties if you have any information)

I saw a new freshman QB at the 7 on 7 Sat., a another lefty, looked a little lost but throws a nice ball.
Everyone of the freshman had a good chance to throw, Mounts freshman look good

There was WR from NY I believe that looked good too.

The lefty sounds like Neal Seaman from Louisville. Nice size strong arm.

The PLAYERS organize 7 on 7 usually everyday Saturday during the summer. Good time to get some chemistry going before camp and help the incoming frosh ease into the process.

skunks_sidekick

In previous years they have competed against the likes of Kent State, etc...  TFR is correct...this is a PLAYERS organized event.

Look at the time I posted that.... I was really banged up from that night's drinking.  Had a couple buddys in town from Chicago this weekend and it got a little out of hand.  I didn't even realize that I had posted something until I just came online today.  ha

Update:  Chris Wells got choked out in Round 1 on Saturday.  He ran into a fighter who was more experienced than he was.  He still gave it everything he had. . . which we expected.  Hopefully he retires from this MMA stuff soon.  I think he's getting a little old for it and I'd hate to see him get really hurt sometime.

We're planning on making the trip to Rochester for the Fisher/MUC game.  Being curious, I got on the Fisher website to check out any ticket information.  First of all, it was 2007 information.  It was posted that tickets went on sale two hours prior to gametime.  So, I'm assuming they don't do presale, or season tickets??  Ticket cost (per 2007) was $5.00/person.  Guess we'll have to get in line before the game.  Anyone have better news??

I seem to remember the kid from FLA was going to be in Alliance a month before camp opens to start working out. This may be him. I don't remember if he is a lefty or not but I think he was  6'5" & 220. He was also a high school teamate of Mount freshman Keren Emanuel, a receiver.

It sounds like we will have a good competition for the positions that are open. 25 QB's, 50 RB's and of course 75 kickers. ??? ??? :P That's tongue in cheek. ;)
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!
