Despite not being a MUC fan, I must concur.  Although, it just confirms what we already know, that MUC is loaded and where they don't have a returner they have a guy who has experience, size, and athletic ability ready to step in.  It's no wonder they are the envy of every DIII team in America.

I wish someone, other than maybe me, cared enough about Cap to write such an in-depth preview.

Good job, guys.  Thanks for the pre-season reading material.  The season is right around the corner (FINALLY!)

Our 2009 Mount Union Football Season Preview has been uploaded.

Thanks to Mark Grossman, Lenny Reich and Vince Kehres with the help with this.  It is must read for Purple Raider fans, very well done and in-depth!

I hope to be around more this year. Last season was one of my most enjoyable but I was very, very busy with some things and this summer has been no different.

I'll see a lot of you in three weeks and our broadcasts will be on the internet again this season. Go  Raiders!

Outstanding! 8)
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

Thanks!  I'm glad all the time I spent writing with the wife in the background "chirping" was worth it.

Yea, football is almost here.

You are one up on me - I just signed!

Great preview though. I am excited to see Mooring running with the ball. He was a bruiser and I hope he has not lost anything. QB is the biggest question mark. Rocco is not mobile but the line is very solid and should allow him the time to develop but the first 2 games will be tough. St. John Fisher had a lot of Jr/Soph on last years squad which gives them some experience coming into this year - and ONU has a great deal to prove after last years thumping. I think those 2 games will determine the QB situation in a hurry.

If TM is healthy...he is the starting tailback.

Don't be surprised to see the "three-headed monster" at QB, especially early.

When we get closer, let's get a roll-call to see who is heading to Rochester.  I feel a really Stagg-like tailgate in the making with the late start time.  Skunk, Jr., and myself will be there.

This should be a fun year.....

Thanks to HSCOACH and everyone to helped him with that preview. I'm ready to join the rest of the old men along the fence at practice.   :D

I see JCU's 2009 roster is on the web, any other pre-camp rosters out there?

From Yahoo Sports

"Without prompting, Peyton Manning singled out Pierre Garcon and Anthony Gonzalez as receievers that need to step up.
It's interesting that Manning said Garcon and didn't mention Roy Hall or Austin Collie. If Garcon really does step up and take over the No. 3 WR job, he'll be a deep sleeper to keep an eye on. Especially if he has Manning's eye already."

Very interesting

hscoach sets new standard for preseason team writing.  This is best of the best.
Outstanding job with only one glaring exception:  nothing about the cheerleaders!  ;)

On another note I attended the St. John's kick-off luncheon today and got to hear John Gagilardi speak about their upcoming season. He was funny as usual and has tons of stories to relate about events that have occured during his 61 years of coaching. John is never short on wit. He likes to kid the monks about signing a lifetime contract when he arrived at St John's for $4500/year.

He says he would like to renegotiate!

Back then he was also the hockey and track coach. He got the hockey job because he had played it once.

He said he has three speaches when he talks...the one he prepares, the actual one he presents and the one he wished he had given when he is finished.

A rare chance to send time with a legend of the game. ;)

Who is that dude with Raiderguy?
