Just another example of administrator's sitting around the table trying to solve a perceived problem......."I got it.  Let's make them shake hands before the game.  That will stop all the problems."   ???

PurpleSuit

didn't see anything mentioned on here, but Pierre Garcon had one reception last night for 12 yards from Peyton Manning, and also had one catch negated by a holding penalty.

raiderpa

he also dropped a bubble screen...
the first catch and run for 12 yards was nice, he broke a tackle and turned 5 into 12

Spotlight On Ohio Athletic Conference Football

After reading this preview, I'm glad we have Kickoff here at D3football.com.  It seemed as though each capsule was done after a quick browse through last year's stats with little attention or research.  Last year's backup was highlighted as ONU's quarterback.  Marietta had just one player mentioned by name.  I read B-W's and thought it would be a good preview but each preview got shorter and shorter it seemed.

Not often I agree with your punk-ass, but I do here.  They only highlighted Cleveland players at the OAC Schools. While that works for people like Shorts and the Flaming Pile's QB, it doesn't for say Wilmington.

Typical PD coverage of a conference with two local schools in it.

The pregame posturing and taunting is old and classless, but I can't see this solving that problem either.  Captains meeting at midfield for the toss is representative show of good sportsmanship.  I like both teams shaking hands after the game and think that along with the new ritual of players from both teams gathering at midfield postgame for a prayer is a positive step.  Pregame handshake is an extra opportunity for hijinx.

Nice little article on Mike Sirianni Mike Sirianni on an Impressive List

I wonder if they are still bashing the W&J administration for hiring him. (or at least for firing Banny) ::)

Thanks LR for the link

Don't know if you'd be interested but I'm heading back to Ohio in October for my 10 yr.  I'm planning on hitting a CJ/Carroll game and will be heading to ONU for homecoming versus BW.  I'm sure I'm gonna be all over the place for my weekend home but it's something to keep in mind.

Ditto...good to put a face to a name finally. Fun watching the molding of the group. Also impressed with the ability to handle the number of kids in practice. LK being very hands on with his coaching. Nice to see Nate and Darryl staying involved with the program.

Also great to meet Lenny Reich. Although I have had (my own moments) with his style he is a very pleasant and enjoyable to talk too and I look forward to visiting with him again. Lots of insights on a lot of subjects. He has been great with all the preseason info that has been shared.

I spoke with Anne & Tiffany in the alumni office and they said they will have 150 tickets for the St. John Fisher game whick is way over the number they need to satisfy the bus crowd so anyone going Sept 5 should be able to get a ticket through them. If you have not dealt with them before you are missing out. They are the best when it comes to helping out with any alumni needs. I would assume there will be more than 150 at the game but I thought I read earlier that there would not be a problem getting into the game on game day. Hope to be there myself. ;)
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

Yes, the joint practice on Friday was a masterpiece of organization. 200 plus young men, all with a task, very little standing around. Probably 275 people with coaches, student assistants, trainers and equipment managers. Followed my philosphy of let's go hard and go home. Don't waste anybody's time. Punters, kickers, QB's, receivers all getting maximum rep's.

Don't miss the OAC preview which is FINALLY airing Tuesday nite at 6:30 on STO. Will air 4 or 5 more times.

BTW If we ever need him, we have a really impressive punter. (ie the Maytag repairman)

For those interested in making the trip......tickets for the MUC-Fisher game (9/5--4:00) are available by calling the MUC Alumni Office (800-992-6682) and ask for June Porter.  Tickets are $5.00/each and are general seating.  Fisher does not have any reserved seats.  The Alumni Office will even mail you the tickets, and will take credit cards over the phone.  Raiderguy, you are right, the folks in that office are very friendly and accommodating.   Any plans for tailgate, etc.??
