Yes, the joint practice on Friday was a masterpiece of organization. 200 plus young men, all with a task, very little standing around. Probably 275 people with coaches, student assistants, trainers and equipment managers. Followed my philosphy of let's go hard and go home. Don't waste anybody's time. Punters, kickers, QB's, receivers all getting maximum rep's.

Don't miss the OAC preview which is FINALLY airing Tuesday nite at 6:30 on STO. Will air 4 or 5 more times.

BTW If we ever need him, we have a really impressive punter. (ie the Maytag repairman)

Sometimes planning those practices take longer than the practice itself ::)

For those interested in making the trip......tickets for the MUC-Fisher game (9/5--4:00) are available by calling the MUC Alumni Office (800-992-6682) and ask for June Porter.  Tickets are $5.00/each and are general seating.  Fisher does not have any reserved seats.  The Alumni Office will even mail you the tickets, and will take credit cards over the phone.  Raiderguy, you are right, the folks in that office are very friendly and accommodating.   Any plans for tailgate, etc.??

just ordered mine today...and i have to agree with you about the office staff being very friendly.

We're only a few days away from watching the Raiders smack around W&J and then high school starts the next night.   Yippie, football is finally here!
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Pick-ems for Week 1 will be posted this weekend.

Early line on MUC/SJF is hovering around 30+ points right now.   ;D   Gotta watch the QB's and RB's on Thursday before I'm ready to commit.

HScoach the W&J scrimmage is at Mount and the time is 6PM? Can you confirm.

Wideout

Was at practice last Friday and watched QB's throw.
One guy that really stuck out is the kid from Louisville, Lefty that moves and throws very well.
Looks about 6ft tall a year on the weight program......could be the man

I just met a guy down here who claimed to have been born and raised in columbus ohio (he was probably 35) just moved to FL, and said hed never heard of mount union. I was completely baffled.

I thought the kid from Louisville looked somewhat tentative on his throws late last week.  I m with HS Coach..Thursday should tell us a bunch..

Can't say I'm surprised.  A lot of Ohioans get caught up in the OSU hype and consider the MAC schools small college football.  The state media doesn't give much coverage and unless they follow the game closely or have a personal interest its hard to find much information about d3 or even FCS programs around the state.

As of yesterday, the scrimmage is still scheduled for 6 pm.  If I hear anything different, I'll post it ASAP.

There are people in Columbus who haven't even heard of Capital or Otterbein, so I am not at all surprised.

I think it is a function of getting six pages of coverage in the Disgrace, I mean... Dispatch Sports Section of OSU but a total of ZERO on small colleges.  Friday night is for HS football and it is in the Saturday paper, Saturday is for OSU and they are in the sunday sports section, and Sunday is for pro football and that takes up the majority of Monday's sports section.

It is not a joke when I say that there wasn't even an article on the great Capital-MUC playoff games from 05 and 06, just a small press release.  It's pretty pathetic.

The NCAC is now following me on Twitter, I supposed I could block 'em like I do all the half dressed bimbos.

Agree about the LHS QB, but Rocco and the Florida transfer were firing bullets as well. Just need somebody to lead Cecil by enough to break him loose. Not many db's keeping up with him. ::)

From what I've seen, the next QB will be either Seaman or the kid from FLA.  The other two QB's practicing with the varsity are just place holders to get enough arms to keep the WR's entertained.
