Raider 68

Regarding Cecil at QB, I do not think Coach Kehres will have him at QB vs. WR in game one, unless for a few plays to see how the defense reacts.
He will give his senior the opportunity first, then if the results are not there
then Plan B which could be a combination of Rocco, Seaman and a few snaps for Cecil. But we will see.

The defense will set the tempo for the offense.

If Rocco came to MUC to play on a winner, then I have to believe that he has a super competitive attitude. So if you are reading this Kurt....Go do your thing the best way you know how, and may the football Gods be with ya! My problem with him is his stance and lack of an arc to his passes. That can be compinsated for with a little coaching finesse. Timing will be critical for this young man. Turn it over early and often in this game though, and you watch from the sidelines.

If coach Kmic has an impact, then maybe all Rocco has to do is feed the backs and hold for PATs. Heck I can do THAT.  ;D

Wideout

I second that, Kurt my prays are with you.
The best thing for the the team is relax and and have fun you've been there before

I'm quickly becoming more and more disappointed by the day with the new Sports Info department at Cap.

First, no media guide posted to the internet yet.

I'd send you mine, but what they had at Media day was so lame I didn't take one. I know money is tight, but at least do the work and get it web published

It should go without saying that I miss Lenny Reich...

Met Lenny two weeks ago at a practice and then spent time with him at the scrimage.......THANK YOU CAPITAL! ;)
Welcome Lenny

and best wishes to every Mount player,  may you succeed beyond your wildest dreams ::)

Oh God ... the air is cool, the traffic jams are building ... is it really time to wake up from my sports hibernation???

Before I attempt to repeat my unexpected success in HScoach's pool this season, I gotta question for you still lucky enough to live in the Buckeye State ...

Does STO have a deal with the OAC again this year, and if so, do we know what games they will be transmitting?  I'd hate to pay to pick up the sports package if all I can see is losses by the remnants of the Tribe.

And why is everyone hating C. Newport?

Small but Slow

The extent of my knowledge about the Mount QB situation comes from reading the posts from you weho have witnessed the process.  My opinion on who will keep the job is that it depends on LK's expectations for the position.  If he feels he simply needs QB to manage the offense, hand the ball off and find the open receiver in obvious passing situations, Rocco, the veteran will have the advantage.  If LK feels he needs a playmaker who may be prone to mistakes but capable of making the big plays, the young gun will be the choice.  LK is loyal to guys who have worked hard in the program and paid their dues, but isn't afraid to hand over the reins to a young guy if it suits the team best.  Getting young guys on the field early may also help in recruiting top athletes.  Talented kids who may go elsewhere for a chance to play early may be enticed to MUC when they see more underclassmen getting their shots earlier in their careers.

If I was a betting man my money is on the Seaman kid earning the job.

You guys haven't done your homework.  If you read what LK was quoted when talking about the QB situation, you already have your answer.  I am not saying......I'm just saying.  Remember this quote.....(and I paraphrase)...I want a QB that has good feet...who can avoid the rush and create time to deliver the pass...something like that.  END.....OF.....STORY.

Cecil will only play at QB when we want to shake it up, and make each and every team we play go completely bonkers!

I challenge any team to cover him with one, or even two DB's.

I HOPE we have the next Nate Kmic.......even NK LIGHT.

See some of you SatERday........Skunk and I will be on duty!

Fox Sports is broadcasting a local HS game each Thursday. This week is Hoover-Louisville. S/B better than the Browns game. Next week Mogadore-Northwestern. Why, because the agreed to play on Thursday

They have a lot of experience back overall, but they lost a lot in the secondary and D-Line.

Assman is back, which is a positive if, and a big IF, he can stay healthy all year.  The receiving corps is pretty talented.  O-Line has 4 of 5 starters back from last season.  Linebackers might be among the best in the conference.  Kicker, punter and long snapper all back as well.

Although they have a lot returning, there are still questions, especially in the running game.  They need a legit running threat to take some of the pressure off Marty and the WR's.  IF they can get it, and if the young DL and secondary gels quickly, they could challenge for second place and a playoff bid.  If not, then they will probably be 4th or 5th.

Hope that helps.  Good luck on Saturday!

Assman and Seaman???  Where's Jay Leno when you need him?
