Saw an interesting stat on ESPN about Boise St and their home record since 1999.  They're 66-2 for a .970 winning percentage.  I instantly thought that finally a Division I team would have a shot at having a better WP at something than MUC because I recalled the ONU and UMHB losses at home.  I went to Ric's site and looked it up.

Since 1999, MUC has gone 81-3 at home for a WP of .964.  So yes Boise St. has a better WP over that same time frame at home but MUC hosted 17 more home games thanks to so many playoff matchups.  That's amazing.  Of course, Boise's two losses were regular season contests and if we wanted to go there, MUC wins in a landslide as we'd have to go back to 1994 when I was in diapers.

I guess this one goes either way on who gets the edge but it's amazing that every time we see a D-I stat about dominance, you guys in purple can just smile ever so slightly and think, "That's nice.  But wait 'til you hear what WE did."

True but that has to be counting only the regular season since D1 has no playoffs. To be fair we should only count Mounts regular season as well........by my count (which could be wrong) Mount is 49-1 (.980). So the title...once again...goes back to the Purple Raiders!

WTF?  Thanks dude.  I know you are exaggerating a bit, but you just made me feel old.  :-\

I was playing against MUC in 1994 (and losing, badly).

I won't presume to speak for seventies, but you guys are making me feel like I should be using a walker.

My Mount Union ring says '02 on it.

What will make most (maybe all) of us on this board feel really old is that this year's class of Freshmen were BORN in 1990.

I'm really starting to feel the excitement that comes with the start of each new season.  Though I was thoroughly UNDERWHELMED by last night's televised D1 games, it did serve to remind that football is actually here again...FINALLY.

They mentioned on one of the games last night that this is the latest start to a football season since 1981.  It definitely felt like it.

Raider 68

Age is defined by how you feel and happiness in birthdays.

Who would predicted in 1999 that Mount would win 6 more National tiltles
with '09 '10 yet to go. Age gives you perspective to look back and appreciation to look forward and anticpate.

Seventies, My ring says 1968 and I still wear it!

GO RAIDERS, let start again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mine should have said '70 but Viet Nam and the draft got in my way.

IN regards to my last post, it just hit me.  In just a few years, there are going to be kids trying to continue Mount's streak of domination that weren't even alive when it began (if you count the beginning as the first national title in 1993).

That, my friends, is in-freaking-credible.

When you put it that way I understand why our opponents get so frustrated.  I still don't feel bad about it though.

WOW!!
Quite spread for the first week. The question is "will they do it-not can they do it"? Hope the new kicker (From Sweden) gets it deep all day and we hold them there after they catch it. I know he can put it in the end zone but we'll see come Saturday.

Let's wind the machine----GOOOO RAIDERS

JK, many in this year's freshmen class were born in 1991.  Sorry to break it to you.   :-\

MOST 1990 births would now be sophs.  SOME of this year's frosh were born in 1992! :o

We're all aging by the post! ;D

JK

You're right.  Thanks for correcting my shoddy math.

So, if some of this year's frosh were born in 1992, then it has already happened.  MUC has won or shared (1994 tied with BW and JCU) every OAC title since these kids were born.
