Raider 68

The question is: Is ONU much better or did NC beat themselves with 3 interceptions resulting in 2 ONU scores. It propably a little of both?

The game in 2 weeks should answer many questions. Any time an OAC  team can win over a ranked team that is very encouraging

Raider68:  You can correct it after you post.  Just click modify.
PS - If everybody on here had to apologize for typos (or incorrect grammar), we'd have twice the posts!  Heck, I didn't even noticed it until you mentioned it.

Living in Florida for the past several years has given a lifetime's worth of Tim Tebow and Chris Leak highlights vs. the Buckeyes in another notable dual qb system.  :-[

Exactly!  About the same time Urban was employing that strategy with Leak/Tebow LK was doing thesame with Jorris/Micheli.  In the Stagg when Micheli had the hot hand he was turned to and won the game.  Micheli was prepped for this role all year by sharing the job with a veteran of the system.  As long as the top two QB's are working together for the benefit of the team this strategy can succeed.  Who knows how this will play out, but this has become a proven formula at Mount.

We started calling Micheli the "D3 Tebow" then, but probably should have been the other way around Tebow being the "D1 Micheli"

It surely wasn't the first, but it happened in the 50s at the highest level - Waterfield and Van Brocklin.

Thanks for the memory - Waterfield and Van Brocklin - handing the ball to the Bull Elephants when not throwing to Crazy Legs and Tom Fears.  Before that, I spent a summer, at about age 13, living with my brother and Deacon Dan when they did a summer session at W&J and Pete Henry sorta looked after me when 'bro was in class.  I watched Deacon Dan and Walter Cooper play that fall.  Later, I became a fan of the Rams (and Jane Russell).  In his 5 or 6 years in the NFL, Towler averaged 5.2 ypc.

Waterfield/Van Brocklin, Jorris/Michele.  Bull Elephants, Nate the Great.  Life is good and seems to keep getting better - in the Land of Kehres.

My most vivid memory of the Rams of that era is Glenn Davis taking a pass out of the backfield from Waterfield for an 82 yard Ram TD on the first play from scrimmage in the NFL Championship Game at Cleveland Municipal Stadium on December 24, 1950 and thereafter the Browns winning the game from behind, 30-28, on a 16 yard Groza field goal with 28 seconds to play. There was a small army of giants in the history of pro football on the field that day!

I've got a couple of toes on the Rocco bandwagon. Take a few more games to make me forget the scrimmage. Running game? With the receivers we got? Only as needed, anyway 3.6 x 3 = ....
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

Sorry for the non-D3 post, but I am watching the UC-Rutgers game, and Tony Pike might be the best college QB in Ohio.  286 yards, 2TD, 1 INT in the FIRST HALF...

I know the WR are great but LK likes balance which is why I brought up the run. Also, I know 2 QBs have worked before but they also have failed. Jorris/Micheli were not used as a rotation so much as when Mike wasn't right/was off in came Greg - like the Stagg. I am sure LK game planned for 2 but...my point is that a rotation at QB also has failed: Bruney/Burghardt (SP?). I think that was a great team top to bottom as far as talent - but no game breaker like Kmic/Pugh/Moore.....to take it over. The end result was...well that Auggie still gets to come in here and talk about 4 straight. Oh well - nuff said.
