North Canton 8th grade team is now 2-0.  Jr. had six tackles, and an interception.

RC????  Still waiting for your recommendations if we take the trip to Ada.  What is your one "can't miss" restaurant/sight/etc...?

I would say your can't miss sight for Ada would be Cedar Point! ??? ;D
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

SaintsFAN,

Thanks for the broadcast reference.  I owe you the first round on Friday of BW week.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Couldn't find the MUC-ONU game on STO's programming.  I doubt it will be televised because it is down in Ada.

Got engaged this weekend.  Ironically, I was in NYC while the Raiders were in Rochester.  Had to set the date for next July so it wouldn't interfere with football season.

Confident I made the right decision  ;D

OK, well first TooFor.... its NEVER too late to get out of that.  JK, congrats. .. and Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for following the "football season is sacred" method to choosing a wedding date.  Too many morons that I've known have done it during football season.... whoops, SaintsFAN can't attend that wedding but enjoy this $100 bill.

hscoach,

uh oh..... a round of what?  I think thats going to be a good weekend in Alliance for me...

They are correct and that is the loophole in the rule.  He still has 4 years left to play even though academically he is a sophomore.

So how many times did Cap cut Rocky, then?   ;)

I gave the NCC faithful a couple ideas last week.  You can scroll back and check it out or go off the short list: Kewpee's Hamburgers, Skyline Chili (both in Lima), Fricker's in Findlay or one of the pizza places in Ada (East of Chicago or Padrone's).  It looks like there are some new restaurants since my days in Ada including a buffet, The Armory Bar and Grille and you might be able to get a frosty beverage or two at the official college bar "The Regal Beagle".

It's tough to give a great review because the choices have changed a bunch since I graduated in 2003.

Yesterday, I was told by good sources that North Central was overated by their own internal people and their performance against ONU did not come as a big surprize.

That said, the spread by HScoach  for ONU/MUC will be interesting!

No offense, 68, but I don't see how that was possible with all they had coming back.

I played for him, and can tell you that Dean Paul is an excellent coach and has a great record in Week 1.  His team underachieved last year, but I know he has been excited for 2009 since last December.

Then how do you have a  All-american QB throw 3 interceptions leading to 2  TD's in the very first game. Maybe NC read their press clippings and forgot to play the game. ONU did not.

I guess that begs to the question. How good is ONU this year and will we see it on Sept 19th. Just asking? :-\

That's exactly what I mean, sir.  He threw those INTs because he faced a hungry defense who were prepared for them..

We all know what is going to happen next week, right?  Same old story, different year.  I do believe ONU is the #2 in 2009 though and NOT Otterbein.  Look at Otterbeins first game against Bethany.  7-7 going into the 4th quarter??  Bethany had 6 true freshman starters on each side of the ball!!

Not to mention, its Bethany!!  ESPN has a "come on man!" segment on NFL pregame show.. If we were doing the same, Otterbein would get my "come on man" for week 1.

Also, go to the CCIW page, there is an article written after NCCs scrimmage where they won by a ton.  Their coach has some lofty goals in mind from what he said in the article.  Some posters there are saying the level of competition was below ONU and maybe this gave them a false sense of where they stood going into Week 1 ... I think that is probably what you heard-- something along those lines.  To say their insiders or coaches think they were overrated and weren't surprised at the loss takes away from Dean Pauls bunch did last Saturday.  Give credit where credit is due.

Otterbein will be fine this year. They shot themselves in the foot quite a few times on drives. Gettings nearly 300 yards out of Yates and Coy was a good sign. The offense will ride that tandom this year. I think Jack's game was just getting some of the rust off. He was one of the leaders in passing efficency last year in the country. I don't thik he'll have too many games where he completes under 50% of his passes. He'll get his game legs back.

So I was checking out the schedules on D3Football.com and the schedule for Hardin Simmons has all five playoff dates (including the Stagg Bowl) listed as TBD.  No other team's schedule that I looked at show that?  Is Hardin Simmons being a bit presumptuous?  Does the staff at D3Football.com know something that we don't know?

In an earlier post, I praised Coach Paul for his victory and not taking anything away from ONU. Your mention of the scrimmage comments just confirms something to me.  The insiders are not coaches, but I agree that
NC may have had a fall sense of security. ONU was able hold the ball the last 7-8 minutes of the 4th quarter.
