If I remember correctly, a running back from Whitewater named Beavers had a game against Mount in the Stagg Bowl worthy of a highlight film.

Just another Mount hater from Wooster!   ;)

There have been MANY big games by individuals against Mount, and certainly in the few times they have lost the Stagg Bowl.  A certain one-legged RB/REC/SUPERMAN from SJU comes to mind, and also Mr. Beaver as well.  Of course, there wouldn't be enough space on this board to list all the great games Mount players have had against everyone else in big games.

Oh...and Mount hasn't had the pleasure of playing against Linfield as of yet.  I really hope that happens sometime soon.  Of course, Linfield needs to just make the play-offs first before that can even be a possibility.  So far this year looks promising, but I don't see anyone getting by WW from the west.

Regarding Linfield, I have been watching them in hope of a potential match-up but I agree, they will not get by WW based upon the first two games.

Hey--don't we have a few teams to get by too??--one week at a time--one week at a time!

Prof,

You are correct and each week, the Raiders have to get the job done, but
it is nice for the posting world to speculate (on occasion) on what could happen down the road. The OAC will have some close games this season. and the ONU/Ott will be one of them.

b4uknewit,

If Cecil has a great year (at WR), do you think he can get a serious look
by the NFL?  Maybe's PG's success may cause the scouts to look again at
MUC.

Wow!
I get -Karma for making a true statement against Mount. You guys are tough. Maybe you are pushing me towards being a Raider hater. I guess we know who moderates the the OAC board.

old scot,

Read the recent post from "desertraider" to better appreciate the "moderating" that goes on here. Just one more embarassment to observe.

Someone tries to present a balanced perspective about a college football game - includes a legitimate question about MUC decision making - and the de minimis IQ crowd goes a little insane.

D II/ III fan,
I hear you. Just got dinged again for no reason. I guess if they don't like what is said your punished.

Not many individual performances stand out to me. Blake Elliott for certain, but a RB from UW- Lacrosse, Macadlo I believe, or something like that, That was the most impressive performance for me.

Old scot - The intent of your post may have been misinterpreted as a spiteful dig, but I see it as a statement of the number of great players who did not have great games against the Purple Raiders.  The number of players who have been shut down and their teams subsequently defeated by MUC over the past 15 years greatly outnumbers those who have.  I'll never forget Blake Elliott's effort in the '03 Stagg Bowl.  He was great, and SJU deserved their victory.  Beaver was productive in '08, but to me the UWW defense was the story of that game.  The number of great games against MUC in big games is far outnumbered by average or less performances.

Well now you gotta drag me into it. I did not smite old scot - it was a good post and raised valid points. No problem with that at all. You however just need to get your panties untwisted. You were called "dude" and "silly" in a post - well the fact is dude you were being silly. There is nothing offensive about that - to anyone except you. But then you come back and throw a little hissy over it claiming the terms are classless and arrogant (your terms in a 9/20 post). In short you were being a jackass - lighten up!! I don't know of anyone who got -k for stating an opinion - but I do know of a few who got it for being a jackass about it. Oh and the latin was a nice touch - even if you were trying to be superior. Current front-runner for classy, yet devastating, smack-down of the year! :o  +k

(My latin is way-too-rusty to add to that, and would come off as trying to act superior [besides humiliating me as it would probably contain errors].  The perils of aging: back in college I could give at least one profane comment in about 62 different languages! :D)

Well said, sbs.
Blake Elliott was a player.  He put the team on his back and ran to victory (slightly metaphorical).

FYI, pissing and moaning about getting smacked is not a recipe for the smacking to stop.  Just the opposite.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!
