Anybody see the Widener player on the main page with his helmet spun around backwards. If that properly fitted, he no longer has a nose.

Prayers and condolences to the Jones' and the ONU family! Our thoughts are with you, God bless.

It's time for the Rocco doubters to prepare baked crow for their dinner. Seaman is going to be a fine QB for the Raiders, maybe even the second coming of the Great No. 7, Bill Borchert, but this year the man who can hit the bomb is Rocco. I was at the game and the Raider offense presents a greater threat with Rocco under center because of his ability to throw deep. Crow is a dish best served with onions, having had much experience myself.

Sorry to hear about the loss in the Jones family, prayers from our family in these sad times.
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

Went to the gme last night and came away not overly impressed with Rocco. He did not look comfortable and appears slow, he does stare down his recievers - especially when Cecil is his target. I thought Seaman did a nice job but he threw mostly short passes. Cecil made some great grabs and is pretty much unstoppable. The RBs were solid. Panchik (sp) is running more like Nate than he did before - always falling forward, getting yards after contact. Special teams are just not very good. Guys not staying in lanes, missed tackles - Musky got some good returns. With as much as Mount kicksoff - they need to have better coverage.

I was very impressed with Musky - they did not quit which is hard to do when your down 6 scores in the 4th. But they battled - that last TD they scored was nice. The wideout (#6) did a great job getting in the endzone. Overall a win is a win. But I am not ready to eat crow based on one game against Musky. Rocco still has much to prove and BW should be a better test.

My prayers go out to the Jone's family, I'm sorry to hear of their loss.

I was definitely not impressed with the special team play tonight. If we hope to go to Virginia, this problem has got to be addressed. Penalties still continue to plague us, seems like the guys lose control and forget when to stop. I guess when you play with intensity though, that will happen. I did like the output of the second & third team rb's, thought they did a fine job. Too bad Seaman didn't get any action in the second half though. I saw him escorted off the field at half time with the Dr. but he appeared to be ok, however he was not on the sideline for the remainder of the game. The refs really blew the call on the TB option, it was a lateral and MU shold have had the ball and possibly negate the last score, but we are all human, I think! Heard that Jack didn't play for the Otters last night, maybe they found a younger QB.

RE: Name Changes...I can see the player profiles at game time NFL with Garcon's video/picture coming on and Piere saying ~"THE" University of Mount Union~ :P  OH WELL...it is what it is

Rocco is 31 for 47 , for 628 yards, and 7 touchdowns.  He has thrown 1 interception.  All this in his first three varsity starts.  Listen to "What does it take to win your love?" by Junior Walker and the All Stars.

Rocco still needs to improve his footwork and until he does Lk will continue to groom Seaman who Lk is very high on.  Look for Seaman's reps to increase as season goes on.  Rocco has agreat arm, but until he gets more consistenet with footwork he will be limited especialy against teams that can bring heat on defense.

reality check

Jason Trusnik just destroyed a Titans KR'er, stripped him and recovered the fumble for a huge special teams play for the NY Jets.  Great job Trus!!!

reality check

Does anyone remember Robert Heller, the former freshman All-American from Waynesburg that ran for over 2000 yards and 25 TD's as a freshman a couple years ago???  He played that first game of 2008 but disappeared.  I ran across some blog called "The Varsity Letter" that stated he was possibly attending Marietta now but obviously not on the football team.  There were apparently rumors he'd resurface at Slippery Rock or Etta or to pursue boxing but how wild would it be if a kid with his talent was on campus in Marietta and not playing for the Pios?!?  I wish there were some way to confirm or locate this kid.

Went to the game and the first thing I noticed,  Where were the championship banners?  The light poles looked really bare without them.   Rocco looked solid.  He needs more experience, he appears to be Mt's only deep passer.   Defense was solid and receiver corp showed sure hands as usual.   Special teams not so special.  They should improve, there appears to be enough players to choose from.
Fish looked better than last year.   All in all, a very good effort by the Raiders.  I counted thirty some cheerleaders.  Wow!  Oh and they still have the purple chicken.  This year he/she  has a small drum to beat.

Another bright new freshman db for the Raiders made an impressive first appearance tonight. Nick (is it Driscoll?), #41 from Indiana.  We sat next to his Dad who was understandably proud and hopeful that the kid would see some playing time.  He started on special teams.  If you were at the game you might remember #41 flying in from nowhere and canceling a Muskie kick-off return attempt with flair in the second half.  Watch for him.  From a small school in IN, IU discovered him late and offered him a walk-on spot, but he had already been to Raiderland.  How you gonna keep them  Hoosiers once they've seen Alliance, Ohio?

Exactly Kehresma,

It's impossible to imagine any football program in any Division that would be able to compete against a visit to Alliance. The Norman Rockwell-like setting, the incredible football program, and the humble fans would be an irresistible magnet for any athlete.  It's actually amazing Indiana even has any colleges or universities being located so close to Alliance. One has to feel sorry for them.
