On the away note, I expect to be in Tiffin tomorrow. Because Kevin's team won the regular season, we got a bye week. If the schedule is right, the rest of the playoff games are on Sundays so I don't need to miss anymore games. Attendence may be sparse tomorrow because I think both schools are on fall break after midterms.

Watched possibly the worst hs football game I've seen in years tonight. Windam vs Mogadore. 28-0 with 6 minutes off the clock. All the Mogadore varisty had their pads off after halftime. Windam had 19 dressed. Just sad.

It could have been worse seventies...you could have watched that Windham/Waterloo showdown a few weeks ago!

reality check

We've learned a lot collectively today...

Mount has better fan support when they play at home.

When they win at home, they're better than when they lose.

When they win on the road, they're still really good.

The sky is blue (except at night and during rain or snow storms).

How do you know what opposing fans think though???

I was reading the Keith's ATN and saw a quote from St. John Fisher's coach on the importance of winning the conference:

"We could've won that Mount Union game and it didn't guarantee us anything," Vosburgh said. "But we win the Empire 8, and we're in the playoffs."

Um - I hate to be the bearer of bad news but, no. No you couldn't have won that Mount Union game. Granted I understand the statement - just found it funny that he said that after losing 52-10 and a combined 163-37 in four games. Plus - it would have guaranteed SJF 3 things: ESPN highlight, frontpage of D3 football, and every school in D3 would be talking about SJF for at least one week.

Oh well, gotta get my pick-ems in.

I think it's clear that that's a hypothetical statement, desertraider.

Perhaps it would have made more sense to you like this:

"If we had won that Mount Union game it wouldn't guarantee us anything," Vosburgh said. "But we win the Empire 8, and we're in the playoffs."

Oh I know Pat - I do understand the statement and said that in the post - it was the way it was said that I thought was funny. Thanks-

Nice.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Pleez, I still get to watch Mogadore/Waterloo. My co-pilot woke up with the flu so I'm home again. We'll see how many live feeds I can get at once.

Apparently WTAP Parkersburg is airing the ONU/Marietta game on wtap.com at 1:30 but the WTAP website lists the game as "Marietta vs. Northern Ohio".  I'm checking back at about 1:20 to see if the link is working.
