Just wondering if any of you Mount superfans have a excel database on this.

Does the Coach ever call for a pass play with the ball  inside their own 5 yard line?

Kehres is a native of Diamond, Ohio and went to Southeast High School.  He played quarterback while attending Mount Union College (67-70) and still holds the school record for longest pass completion, 95 yards for a touchdown, in a 1970 contest versus Ohio Northern.

SF - as someone who totally didn't get OC's act in previous years, I have to say he was entertaining, and I really appreciate the work ethic he showed in camp.  Oh.....I thought it was hilarious when he was buying his new earrings in "Claire's".  Now THAT was funny s*^t!  (I am paraphrasing) Just cause I GOT a lot of money don't mean I have to SPEND a lot of money.  Plus, dude eats at McDonald's every day.  Too funny....

I did some inquiries about JCU and the NCAC....apparently JCU does lack a couple key requirements for consideration  for the NCAC and DePauw seems the lock.   Further, the feeling around the conference is that the OAC has made some changes that were concessions to JCU (ability to visit to the local Catholic high schools to contact athletes) and JCU appears to be content for now...

I, too, would be interested in hearing more about these "requirements."

I'd also like to hear more about the concessions that the OAC made in JCU visiting local Catholic high schools.  Are you insinuating that JCU is now going to have privileges that they didn't have before and that other schools won't have moving forward?

Yes I do have an inferiority complex, and now that you have pointed it out, I will have to go home and cry in my pillow because everyone now knows.

I'll ding myself for you if it makes you feel any better.  I guess the other 438 +K hits don't agree with your observation though.

It is called Humor sir, and I guess you are lacking in that category.

EDIT: +437, I guess I am not as funny as I thought I was.

It was mildly funny the first time (about 2 weeks ago).  The second time it was more than humor (sounds like you have a bone to pick and veiled it with a weak attempt at humor), and annoyed the heck out of me since you derailed my question once before.

If it makes you feel any better, I've been dinged at least 3 times already, but I think that has more to do with who owns this board, and less to do with the quality of anyone's posts.

In fairness, it does sound like his most recent post was more of a shot at current NCAC schools, and not really a shot at JCU.  The point was that those are the important criteria for membership that JCU lacked.  If he has an inferiority complex, it would be aimed at the NCAC, and not JCU, at least not in how his most recent post would indicate.

They attempted a long pass from inside the 5 this past weekend against Willmington.  It was incomplete.  The broadcast crew discussed your point in some detail.

I think he was saying that the OAC changed LEAGUE rules to allow the High School visits.  I think this recently happened.  I don't know if it was at JCU's request or where it came from.

Indeed, the OAC no longer has the SCIAC rule.

Actually they have thrown from inside the five on a couple occasions this year...

Apparently there is some kind of uppity academic rating that all NCAC schools must hold, and currently JCU does not hold  it.  It may be something as simple as membership in some organization or meeting certain criteria for membership that they have not pursued yet.

And there were several  rules were changed for the OAC on the high school visits etc., however,  it was John Carroll that pushed hard for this one for the obvious reasons of the high percentage of quality Catholic  high schools in their recruiting area.  It is a great disadvantage for any school that is recruiting not to be able to personally visit the high schools.

The  offense is shaping up nicely for the title run. Mooring is looking All-OAC behind a good, if not really good ,O-line.  Rocco and the receivers are scary. Kicker's good.  A young offensive player will surface during the title run .  It will be fun to visit the Shula. Where is a good place to drink and eat after the game?
