The further MUCification of the OAC could only lead to more balance, I think.

You could you seriously put together a 10 tea league with all Purple Raiders as head coaches?

Who would they be?  Kehres, Dean Paul, Mike Hallet, Don Montogmery, Nick Sirianni are no brainers in my opinion.  Who else? Vince Kehres? Jason Hall? Bob Frye? Matt Campbell?

Mike Sirianni is the HC at W&J.  Nick Sirianni is the Offensive Quality Control Coach for the KC Chiefs.  Campbell would be a good choice.  The OC at UWW is a former HC and he could come back to Ohio.  What about Mike Elder?

Don't forget Eric Raeburn at Wabash.

I would throw Jason Candle out there too.  I doubt he would get a job like BW, but with his pedigree and reputation for recruiting I would think one of the bottom half schools would give him a shot.

With the names for a potential successor at B-W, even though we are just speculating (Unless someone has inside info) Here are some questions to ponder:

1. Will B-W consider making at change at the end of the season, if B-W
    ends the season at 3-7?

2. Who is the best former Raider to fill that spot and why?

3. Would they leave their current position for B-W?

4. What does B-W have to entice a former Raider?

Would Mike Elder leave a purple (high school) team for the steaming pile?

I know a lot has to happen the last 3 weeks,  but if Cap wins out they will likely be in the top 15 with losses to top ten teams by a total of 8 pts.  I have to think they get in.  Maybe?

It's possible the NCAA would take three OAC teams, but I'm not sure it would be overly likely.

Capital might well land ahead of a couple of 1-loss teams in the selection process, but unless there are some Week 11 losses like we had in 2008, I think we'll have too many 9-1/8-1 teams ahead of Capital.

THese are exactly my thoughts.  FIrst thing they have to do is win out- no small feat with ONU left.  Then they have to hope for the best (or worst, depending on which side you sit on) and have a bunch of 2 loss teams with them and not a lot of 1 loss teams in front of them.  I would think that they would be the best 2 loss team of the pool C candidates if these last 2 weeks hold true to form.

Another thing that might help is if the pool B conferences don't have many teams that the committee deems worthy.  THat means more pool C bids...

If Cap beats ONU, then that is a good win for them, with ONU having beaten NCC.  The interesting question here is if ONU beats Cap and finishes 8-2 with a win over NCC- who looks like it will be the AQ from the CCIW- will they get in?  They lost to MUC by 20, but to OTT only by 2.

If it somehow, by the grace of the good lord, happens that Cap gets into the playoffs with 2 losses, I will have to petition the committee (that would be OldOtter) to restore my profile pic...

JK-

If Cap gets in that would put the chairman of the board (me) in a tough spot. I'm not sure how much I would want to facilitate the celebration of anything that is Capital, BUT, I could possibly see celebrating 3 teams getting in from the OAC. Decision is still pending....

Aren't the number of Pool B and Pool C bids for this year set in stone right now?

Bob Frye who had been at Tri State and Olivet is a MUC guy if I am not mistaken.

You are right.  I should have consulted the playoff FAQ on the main page before I posted.  I thought that only pool A bids were guaranteed, and that both pool B and C were considered "at-large."  THis is sort of true, but there are three guaranteed pool B bids.  Here is a direct cut from Pat's playoff FAQ:

Automatic bids to go the champions of 23 conferences.

There are three bids set aside solely for Pool B teams, that is, teams who are independents or in conferences without automatic bids.

The leftover Pool B teams get dumped into Pool C, and those teams get considered for the remaining six bids.

What does this mean? Probably six bids going to Pool C teams, although it's possible in some years the fourth-best Pool B team could get that final at-large bid.

The JV game at WJ a couple weeks back was pretty good...gotta be better than watching the Brownies...

I think WJ will bring attitude and effort to Mount.  The last scrimmages have been very spirited....

I would love to see Sirianni at BW....or JCU...

I'd love to see Coach Monty take over for the man at the top of the steaming pile

I would love to see that as well, but give up the beautiful Virginia mountains to live in Cleveland??

Fuggetaboutit!

He'd do it in a heartbeat.

reality check

All this talk about CAP in as an 8-2 is premature since ONU is just as likely to be 8-2 as CAP is.  They have to play one another and only one team can win.

With Miami U being referred to as the "Cradle of Coaches", I wonder if MUC could get consideration as the "cradle of D3 coaches"?  I am sure, however that there are many schools that would be worthy of consideration..who are they?

I like it!  Can you get it to "rotate pictures" like RC's does??  I can't figure out how to make my Blutarsky picture do that...
