Is it too early to start talking about who should be considered for the Gagliardi  trophy?  Kurt Rocco looks like the guy to me. Here is a young man who starts for the first time as a senior, leads the nation in passing efficiency, and most importantly, is getting better every week.  Rocco for the Gag!

Answer to your question: Not too early to talk about, too early to draw conclusions:

                           G  QB Rat.     Att-Comp           %           Yards        TD    Lng      yds/Game
Kurt Rocco            8  205.82     123-176-5       69.9         2103        22    79       262.9
Jeff Donovan         9    175.0       154-218-4    70.6    2137    17    77       237.4

G   Att        + yds    -yds     net        yds/c       TD     Lng       yds/Game
Levell Coppage      9    187         1296      16        1280       6.8     22      68          142.2

Coppage is 2nd in the Nation in scoring.

I have no doubt there are other "on the field" worthy candidates nationwide.

No idea about off the field stuff.  Not sure how much the academic and community service aspects are weighed as long as the grades are good and no major blemishes.

wow, don't even know how to go about fixing these columns. They look GREAT on the page that creates the post!  ??? Sorry about that.

bleedpurple,

I thought the quality of the graphics was good, not that it represented
Heidelburg! I would like to see it done for MUC!

I am hearing rain for Saturday :( Hope that wind is not a factor!

We have Rocco, wind will not be a factor.

Ric,

Good point, the wind at John Carroll was extreme, but with K. Rocco's arm, he was unaffected by it! Hope he continues his great performances for the
remaining regular season games and playoffs.

Our friends up north (not Uof M, but UWW) are keeping tabs on C. Shorts
and K. Rocco. We will continue to see him short and deep along with the "big" tight ends and other WR's.

They look good, but you better use the two that say "college" on them while you still can.

Blutarsky

Reported in the Columbus Dispatch this morning (Tuesday):

"Actually, disaster struck the Cardinals.  They lost quarterback Austin Schlosser (high ankle sprain), left tackle Kenny Collmar (knee and foot), left guard Arnold Spikes (foot sprain), receiver Dan Gendron (broken collarbone), and center Sam Watson (knee) on successive possessions in the first half.  Only Watson is expected to return this season."

However, the Otter two-deep on the Preview Notes lists Collmar at tackle, and Watson as center.

I smell a "Willis Reed" scenario coming to Alliance........Schlosser comes out of the locker room, unexpectedly, to lead an emotional Otter team on the field to face the Raiders.

I doubt that Coach Loth was totally honest with the Dispatch  ;)

I would like to see the best that Otterbein has to offer and I agree that
Mount will see #12 at QB. We do not want their coach/fans saying that
The Raiders beat a team with many injuries as an excuse.

The stats indicate that their defense is suspect regardless of injuries and that alone will make for a long day in Alliance.

Latest weather forecast (via weather channel) is sunny with a high of 52-54.

I like the second option without the "The", but I do not have a final vote.

However, as an alum I did have some input on the consideration for change
from a college to a university.

I put "The" in there as a mock to OSU (I really can't stand that).  In all seriousness, though, I think Mount Union University sounds better than University of Mount Union, but I'm not sure about the initials MUU (unless Mount is thinking of starting an agriculture program).

Looks like the Otters are in trouble.  What stuns me is with all the talk about the offense being beat up the healthy defense gave up 25 points and almost 30 first downs.  Yikes.

My feeling is whoever wins the Cap/ONU game and wins out has the best chance to get into the playoffs.
