Does anybody know what time the Stagg Bowl is scheduled for this year?  All I see on the game's website is stuff from last year's game.

Would be great if we could get a primetime game again, though I know thats not going to happen.  Its been what??  ... 12 and 4pm the last two years?

Someone posted on another thread that the game was at 11:00am EST this year but I couldn't find verification of that.

Interesting take on the projected 32 team field

This could  be the year when some strong sleeper teams make some impact especiallly in the West and South regions. MHB, Central, St Thomas and a few more are very capable based upon the region rankings, and projections at this point. I do not see that sleeper team yet in the MT. Union region (East) as yet.

I don't see MUC having trouble against anyone in the East or the South when they reach the semi's. Especially if these projections hold up where the East is #1 and South is #4. MUC might face Wesley or MHB in the semis.

Really interesting part of that first bracket prediction was the line about what would happen if Averett wins their conference.  The DIII website folks would put Averett at #8 in the Mount Union bracket, which would send Averett up to Alliance in round 1.  Given what happened in the first 15 minutes of the last game the two played, it almost makes you wonder if winning the conference would be worth it.

Well, I know that Averett's program has improved since the last time they played in Alliance so I doubt you would see a repeat of that, but I suspect five touchdowns would still be a safe bet.

Agree 100%.... not to be a homer here ---- most of you know I'm very fair --- but Thomas More has a defense that can get them as far as Alliance OH (if they are placed in the South).   They rival Mount Union as far as defensive speed goes..

That's a strong statement; but, if true, could carry TMC far in the tournament.  Especially as the weather continues to improve :)

I did want to add that I also think that Mount Union is in the middle of a rebirth of the athletic department with updated modern facilties and the addition of Lenny and several new coaches. It's an exciting time to be around Mount Union athletics. Looking forward to a track meet on the new Wuske indoor track in the near future.

I don't know about that.  I saw them play JCU and, although they were a good team, I think that statement is pushing it way too far.

MUCH has changed since week 1... in fact, the growth they had between week 1 and 3 (with a bye in between) was very good.

Maybe it was a bit much --- I think final 8 could be in the cards --- with the right match up.

Bottom line is the team is much, much better than what you saw in week 1.  Much.  (now watch them piss down their legs this weekend)

Alright SaintsFAN that's enough out of you.  No need for added pressure, under the radar for TMC is just fine for the rest of us.

I would never expect a repeat of that game, especially in the playoffs.  I think that year Averett didn't win a single game, then up to 4 wins and now already have 7 this year.  Now to be challenging for a conference championship, that's a great turnaround for that group of freshman and sophomores who lost to Mount a couple of years back.  Still, it's hard to imagine any team pulling off a 68 turnaround in terms of point differential in that amount of time.
