I really hope ONU sneaks into the playoffs as I believe they are 1 of only 2 North Region teams that could give Whitewater a decent game.  With Illinois Wesleyan being the other.  The rest of the region is dead meat.

Pulling for Ohio Northern to make it. We've been a little short of decent games over here. Plus it would be good to see a WIAC/OAC matchup before the Stagg.

Small but Slow

According to Ric's website 2009 is Mount's 19th 10-0 regular season.  Since 1985 was the school's first Mount Union has gone 10-0 in 19 of the past 25 seasons!  That's incredible, I don't care what division or conference.  Each undefeated regular season has included at least one close contest with a few going into OT.  The longevity of this run is reaching epic proportions.  The program's success is staggering.

Heck, I'm trying to catch the thirteen year old.

The 13-year old will have to rush his picks tonight as he is in football playoffs tomorrow morning.  [Sorry, too small to be MUC material, unless he learns to kick!]

He wants to know if you went to UMUC in the 70s, or your age is in the 70s?   ::)

I graduated from Mount in 2002. That should clear things up.  :D
So, 70 refers to the number of years you were in school?

Started during the term of the sixth college president and graduated during the term of the 11th. Picked up my education credits during the term of the 12th. I and I think most of Mount Union could have lived without the 11th. (Did I mention all the Acting Presidents)

WHAT?

You started with Bracy ('52-'67) and ended with Giese ('05-...)?  Who are you?  Blutarski?

Wait a minute, I resemble that remark................7 years, wasted.

RC,

Pat is projecting ONU at Thomas More.  They match up well with one another.  Would be a great game.  I just hope ONU gets in.. And 100% agree with you with everything you said .  Especially about Simmons.  He's a stud at QB.  If he was playing at MUC we would be hearing a lot more about him.

I don't understand all this talk of ONU but none about OTT?  Why is ONU so much better than OTT when OTT beat them i believe week 3.  OTT also beat Capital later in the season and is 2nd in the OAC with head to head wins against ONU and CAP.. Their starting QB was injured during the Marietta game, and was still injured for their MU game, so their originally 3rd string QB had to be thrown in the fire...  Why is no one considering them or does head to head with the same record not matter?

Head to head is great, but their last 3 weeks kill them in my opinion.

25-22 loss to doormat Marietta.  I don't care if Jack Rafferty's wife was taking snaps, that's inexcusable.

58-7 drubbing by MUC.  Not only did they not show up like a playoff caliber team, they didn't show up like a middle of the pack OAC team.

24-22 win against a 3-7 JCU team.  If they pounded JCU I don't know how I would feel, but they had to stop a 2 pt. conversion to eek out a win at home against a bad team.

Injuries may have cost them against Mount, but a playoff team takes care of business and buries Etta and beats JCU pretty easily as well.  Just one guy's opinion though....and I'm definitely not on the selection committee.   ;D

Thanks for the welcome man

I guess I just see a team that plays up or down to most teams level as they have had close victories against both top ranked teams all the way down to middle of the pack OAC teams (except to a MUC team that's looking better and better every week... but can't really say what would have happened with a healthy QB; not that that would have affected the defense) .. but it seems like to me head to head would say that the winner would be the better team and if they played again today the head to head would give a reasonable guess of the result?

but like you i am not on the selection committee, and probably haven't followed d3 as long as you have  :P

Pat is also projecting MHB to the east with possible second game,[ after thanksgiving] at Mt. Union.  Oh would I like another crack at those guys.

Welcome aboard.  Hope you hang for the long run.

Even though Otterbein has the head to head win against ONU, they don't have a good non-conference win like the Bears do and the loss to Etta is a killer.  I don't care if you left the entire 1st string in Westerville, a playoff team has to beat Marietta.  Period.

And the lack of effort against Mount was the final nail in the coffin.  Capital could have very easily beat MUC and ONU pushed them to edge for 3 quarters.  Whereas Otterbein didn't even want to be there.  Otter didn't play with any intensity or belief they actually belonged on the same field with MUC.   If they couldv'e hung with MUC for a half or so it would sit better, but they looked like Muskingum that day, not a top tier team.

A  good win for the Raiders, hats off to the defense. The offense was flat in the first quarter, with  Rocco waiting (too long) for his receivers to get open. A good time-out by Coach Kehres and a few choice words and the offense came alive.

Now its time for the playoffs and see who comes to Alliance!

Interesting how LK's "Come to JESUS" meeting had a positive result on the offense.

Otters don't belong there...and quit crying about injuries ... all teams deal with the injury bug dont use it as an excuse.

I do hope the OAC gets a 2nd team in ... come'on Ada....ugh never thought i'd say that!

I don't think there's a Mount fan alive who doesn't want another shot at MHB, even you HScoach, right?

I agree, but not sure the NCAA will move MHB to the East like the D3 guys think. Also if they do, I would think they could be a #3 seed and not see
Mount until round three. That is OK as well, a matchup between MUC/MHB
will not only be great, but it would give Mount a tough test.
