Oh, and not to come off as a jerk, but I visit the hoops boards pretty regularly, especially the last few years with Cap's basketball program being at or near the top of the conference.  I haven't ever seen you in there...  There were some great Cap-JCU hoops battles the last few years that I would have loved to talk about, but no one engaged me other than a few Wooster guys who live in the C-Bus area and went to the games.

I noticed that his first posts were on this board earlier this season, so I imagine this will be his first season the the hoops board.

And I agree about the whole emotions getting the best of you thing.  That happened to me a few Mondays ago, and all it accomplished was costing me [karma, credibility, dignity] points.

That's right.  Around here, don't see anything that the Mount Union gang of bullies disagree with (even if you're right), or else you'll pay for it in karma points.

I could care less about karma, but credibility is good to have.  Even on the faceless web.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

And who determines who has "credibility"?  ::)

Each person individually.  I think that you usually have a lot credibility, but you let your frustrations get the best of you with the d-bag comment.  I am not trying to preach to you.  I am just speaking from experience.

just wondering, are CarrollStreaks and BleedPurple ever online at the same time?

I guess it ultimately depends on whether you as an individual would rather have open, thoughtful conversations about football in here or just slash and burn your way to a few good one-liners and jokes?  Both types of posters bring something to the table.  And both are useful or entertaining at certain times.

The tricky part is being able to play both sides of the fence depending on the situation.  Reality Check is one of the oldtime masters in here at being able to do both.

Regardless of what persona you chose to display in here, I hope you hang around.  We need a JCU guy.  If for nothing else than to blindly support Regis and Kelly when no one else will. ;D

I agree that Kyle Miller will be an absolute force in this post-season. Of course, he has the well-documented good bloodlines going for him to!

OK Mount fans, what will we see this playoff season that we have not seen before?  ;D

Ok, what will we see besides Coach Kehres against his former player as coach of a playoff team!

A bunch of east region teams that they've never played.

Is this all? No super human defenses, running backs, QB's or the like? Not even the 4 string quartet?  >:(

I graduated CJ in 99.  My parents live in Harrison Township and I have plenty of freinds in Englewood/Clayton.  My wife's cousin was a Miamisburg guy (Billy Updyke).  Maybe you know the name?

haha I know billy very well.......had quite a successful career down at Morehead......havent really heard much about him since then, but im sure hes still as "Billy" as ever..

Just found out today that DP is gonna be the OC for the Stars n stripes in the Tazon de Estrellas and that coach Scafe is coaching the DBs.......should be fun to see how two head coaches from the OAC compliement each other under one roof

Oh, and as for CarrollStreaks "laughingstock" rant........I can tell you that as a player for DP for the better part of 5 seasons, to call someone who develops players into outstanding young men, and with such a high graduation rate as there is for football players at ONU....the man does the job as good as anyone >:(

I'd invite CarrolStreaks to come to Ada and try and do it himself.......but i dont think he would be near as successful  ;D ;D ;D

It was a great year in the OAC.  We had the Number One team, two good 8-2 teams and certainly the best 7-3 D3 team in the nation in the Capital Crusaders.  It is too bad the Otters got nailed by the injury bug and a miscarrage of justice the ONU  team didn't make the playoffs.  There were enough upsets to make everyone happy, at least untill the following week, and a lot of fine coaching on display.  The Raiders will make all of you proud and will uphold the reputation of OAC football.  Wait untill the rest of the field gets a load of the Purple passing attack .  Ten touchdowns to the tight ends!  Coach Tressel ought to call LK and get some of his plays.  I bet OSU tight ends havent caught ten touchdowns in ten years.

No one here has called any OAC head coach a "laughingstock."  My comment was in reference to the way some people around here (mostly a few arrogant Mount Union fans) talk about the head coach of John Carroll as if he's a joke.  I was stating that if he's such a joke, it's an even bigger joke that any Ohio Northern team, especially one that beat Mount Union and was battling for a playoff spot, would lose to a team coach by him.

Let's ask Pat to check the ISPs.  And how about if you're wrong in your silly insinuation, you have to place a JCU logo in your avatar for a month.

No, we are never online at the same time. I  actually have two screen names because I don't want to break the all time record for +k by actually daring to disagree with prevailing thought on the OAC board.  ;)

Carroll, keep up with the arrogance checks. Don't let them run you off. Hopefully, we can inspire others to come in here and keep the OAC board from becoming COMPLETELY narcissistic!

How much longer do I have to keep this stupid bird in my profile???

If I recall correctly, it was in your profile until next year's kickoff??.....maybe a poll among posters??

If he makes the Top-5 in HSCoach's post-season Pick-Em, I'd say "let him be Free At Last"!
