A few interesting notes from the W&J game notes:

HISTORY LESSON: Washington & Jefferson has won 666 games in its 118-year
history (666-370-40) which is third among Division III football programs. Wittenberg
holds the all-time lead with 687 victories and Mount Union (667-379-38) is one
victory ahead of W&J. Widener (634) and Williams (609) round out the top five.

RECENT SUCCESS: This decade, W&J has 99 wins, marking the fourth-highest
total in NCAA Division III. Mount Union has won 135 of 139 games since 2000
followed by St. John's (107), Mary Hardin-Baylor (101), W&J (99) and Wisconsin-
Whitewater (94).

With a few more years of LK at the helm, MUC will catch Wittenberg for the most all-time D3 wins.  What will Witt do when they're no longer the "Kings of Division 3"
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Section13,

The SEC is playing against Semi- pro teams already.. Non scholly D2 and D3 football is the last of the amateur football players.

Tressel makes over 2 mil. The Ohio governor doesn't make 10 percent of that. That's pro football

And the governor deserves 10% of what he makes.

At last, we agree on something

I'm cheering for the Raiders, but I'm glad to see Coach Sirianni getting a shot at the best.  Mike is a great guy, and I'm happy for his success!!

True. He could always choose to take a shot at the best, though. He didn't need the NCAA's help.

Maybe Witt should get ahead of the curve and call themselves "King Emeritus of D3."  That could help ease the inevitable transition....

And great point, Pat.

If I say something bad about Wheaton, will CS stand up for them. I'm just bored with all this Presidents banter.

I am so pissed at Dixie for destroying OAC girls basketball ;)

Mount Union has 666 wins, unless W & J is already counting the one tomorrow.

If they did that then who would poor Oberlin play against??

Reminds me of Hanover under Wayne Perry.. Played us until our struggles of the late 90s were over..

BoBo, I agree with seventies.  It was a helluva run by a stud back, who did get taken down by a guy who appears to give up 20-25#, but it seems like in the almost two years that have passed since, bragging rights have been earned back by MUC.  Or, what the heck, maybe I should post highlights of the beatdown we put on Ithaca in the 1975 Stagg.  No, really, it was on TV, ABC, I think.

I'm glad you keep taking the time to watch it over and over seventies. Hopefully you'll get the chance to watch it a few hundred more times!  :D

seventies,
I don't get how obtuse someone can be as to come here and completely disregard their record against MUC, do you?

reality check

Saintsfan

The plan is to stick with the spread system we installed this year.  I developed a wildcat package that I don't like calling a wildcat package because it's basically just a zone blocking scheme with fly sweep action from gun run by our run-friendly QB or a TB with a single back flanking.

The season before, they ran a real basic I formation offense that lacked some imagination.  The spread system we're running may not be perfect but it beats putting in a third system in three years for these kids.  I talked to Coach Place today and he's going to be sharing his playbook (split back veer) with me when I'm home this coming week and I am hoping to snag something from ONU when I'm home.

Wow, "obtuse".....nice word.  And funny, too. Are you a real doctor?  You go to John Carroll or something??  :D
