I guess it comes under life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And OMG, wearing a wig and the unfunny taunts...did you see the two guys on the other side of the field with their faces painted? And what about all the guys who show up half naked with their huge beer bellies painted at pro and other college games? These guys in Sec. 13 are tame compared to what goes on else where and you know it!

I asked for a reference to the Constitution, you referred me to the Declaration of Independence, and even then your own words (and those of the Declaration) prove your point to be incorrect.  "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness."  No one is guaranteed a right to happiness, or "fun" as you would put it.

Listen, whatever a group of middle aged men wants to do with their free time is up to them.  If they want to put their time to use wearing purple wigs, taunting 18-21 year old student athletes, and buying season tickets next to the opposing fans' section to get their rocks off...that's their prerogative (although when I put the three of them all next to each other, it does seem a bit ridiculous and immature, doesn't it?).  At the same time, however, you can't complain if there are people who implore you to act your age (or my age, for that matter).  It's also never a great move to say, "Well look at what these other guys do!"  Junior high school kids make that argument with their parents to be able to have a later curfew.  Is that really how you want to present yourself?

Have fun Saturday.  Wear your best purple wig and old Chuck Moore jersey.  Be sure to tell the kids from Wesley just how bad you think they are.  After all, it's a free country.

And Jimmy's mommy lets him run with scissors, and play with matches......, so it's okay for me to do it too, right??

If you venture into the students seats in the south end zone, you get what you get. I figure I have no room to complain about drunken college kids. ;) (Insert your favorite "Drank Canada Dry" joke here"

But the old local drunks and I on the south wall mostly behave ourselves. (Although Semifinal week, all bets are off.) I paid the same amount as everybody else so I'll say what I please. Guarantee I'll do it sober though.

Man, do I disagree with that.....the price of a ticket does not guarantee you the right to demean players, coaches, officials, etc.  I have done "crowd control" at toooooo many h.s. games.  The "adults" are usually worse than the students.

Hence the reason I stand against the south wall, nobody will ever hear me  ;)

Actually for the price of a Browns there should be no limits on my free speech. Reaching the age where I don't care anymore

as a parent known to have been pretty load at games with some other parents who also where very loud, i would agree that there is a line between cheering for your team and taunting the other team.  it is not a fine line either, there is a huge difference in cheering and yelling at decisions made by your own coaching staff as opposed to picking out certain players from the other team and ridiculing them under the guise that I paid my money too.  cheer for your team, being ignorant to the other team is not acceptable in my mind.  for all you section 13 peeps, i will be at the game and will be easy to find, i will have a wesley #13 jersey on when i get there.  kind of ironic huh.  i will likely walk in with some of my mount friends who i think sit on the visitor side near section 13.  i am not sure as when i was there last year, i went to the end of the visitors stands since that was were the empty seats were and I like to stand near the top to see the game better.  enjoy the game, but i dont think you should ever be surprised if a college football player who gets tired of being ridiculed resorts to dropping the F bomb in the direction of the ignorant few.  what other recourse does he have, climb in the stands and lay a beatdown on the ignorant fools?  not surprising from a college kid, very shameful from a grown adult who should know better.

justaraiderfan2

The F-bomb that #25 dropped on people was NOT encouraged by any Mount fan what so ever. The kid made a good play came over and just went off. Those crazy Hammer fans did not say a word BUT when he dropped it then yes fans did go off a little and i was one of them yelling WE HAVE KIDS HERE.
I know in the heat of battle these players do get fired up and im guessing he said that because he was pumped.

I just wonder if we go to an OHIO State game and when 100,000 thousand fans scream OH  IO would they be considered Drunkin idiots also.

Enough about the fans, Lets watch 2 GREAT teams play their hearts out Sat because it is going to be a good battle.

wesleydad

justa, i was talking in general, if there was no provocation then the players actions are also unacceptable.  hopefully the we have kids here yells also occur when members in the stands use inappropriate language.  never find much use for it when yelling out loud, find it makes me look ignorant, both rude and stupid.

Loosen your ties and have some fun at a game...let out all that stress from a week of work, it will do you good.

I do not condone taunting anyone or anything of that nature. I do say this, you may not like what they say but you better respect their right to say it...isn't that the First Amendment?

If past practice is any indication, Zac Lemmon has carried the ball his last this playoff run.  This is not to say he wont be a great player for the Purples, I hope he is.  LK ,however, regards fumbles as abominations and rehab takes place in the spring , not now.  I think Montclair State was a much better team than we saw.  If their good QB had not got hurt they would have competed well. They will be back.

IMO Cecil Shorts has not shown any measure of the  physical prowess that Garcon displayed on the field.  He blocks, but they are mostly "screen" type blocks, where Garcon hit and drove people.
His hands are very good, and speed worthy, however, from my vantage point, he is not nearly as physically imposing as Garcon and would not hold up to the violence of the NFL.  I do not see the NFL in his future at all.

I have been told that he was injured as a frosh and played very sparingly in the first game or two....(source is fairly reliable), so does have another year of eligibility.

If he does have NFL aspirations, He may be better off to stick around, bulk up some more and put some more maturity/muscle on his frame, which to me seems slender.

The last OSU  MICH game I attended, was a bit of a shock.  As I walked towards the stadium there were some young men selling T shirts that read     F### Michigan.  In bold black letters.  Children were walking by as well as teenagers.  No one batted an eye.  It seemed that this was to be expected.  Glad we haven't reached that point yet.  One of those things that stay with you.

I played against Garcon and watched Shorts play a couple times. I have to agree with you. To be a DIII guy and make it into the league you have to be able to set yourself apart from all of the big name guys. Pierre did that at the combine with his numbers. He also showed the little things on film (blocking in the open field and the ability to get off press coverage) that caught the eye of NFL scouts. I'm not saying shorts isn't a great player, because obviously he is. He reminds me more of a speed guy, like Ted Ginn Jr, that would struggle with the size and strength of NFL DB's. Garcon might have opened a door for scouts to notice Shorts, but I'm not sure thats enough to get drafted. Hopefully someone picks him up and gives him a chance as a FA. I love having OAC guys on my fantasy team.
