Purplesuit,

Quotethis guy's killing me.  Pierre is not a rookie.  any other facts that you would like to spit out?

Looking at the Indianapolis Colts website I can see he was active for enough regular season games in 2008. The bulk of his work was on Special teams and not as a WR. I thought he might have been inactive for too many games for this to be classified as his Sophmore year in the league. Garcon was inactive multiple times in 08 as well. Don't make me get Hammer and his crew on you!

Is there anyone that has seen both Mount and Wesley play this year?  If so, I would like to hear your opinion about the upcoming semi-final ball game between the two schools.  Also, Ric will you be doing a Tale of the Tape for this game?

Turnovers may decide how this game plays out,,they are the unpredictable parts of a game. Wesley has played some very good defense .The players are strong, well coached ,and like to hit,,run to the ball etc,,all things a good defense does.I would have to say the exact same thing about Mount's defense,,,very similar d performances from both this season.

Wesley on O is a little different than Mount. In many games Wesley's QB is the leading rusher by design, not chance,, and they have a nice rb too,,,,not so w/ Mount this year,, more drop back ,,less option,,but w/good rb's

both teams have had turnovers,,they could be a key

I have only seen Mount at practice,,but from some past experience I imagine they are still playing pretty good football.  Playoff nerves ,and ,playing "the MACHINE"also may make a difference.

Keith McMillan has seen Wesley live the past two weeks and has STO on his channel lineup.

Even if he was inactive for a particular game or games he was still on the 53-man roster and getting paid a regular's salary (not the lower practice squad salary). Even if he had never played a down he would still be a second-year player.

The Wesley DT, Ward is listed at 6'2" 327 lbs..if his is quick, it is hard to imagine him not having some kind of impact on the game....

I would be interested to know from Wesley folks how they rate the overall team speed of the Wolverines, as this is the usually the biggest difference in Mount and opponents...WWW has been the only team the past few seasons to be able to match the Raiders in that department other than the two Shorts TD's when he shocked them early..

  raiderpa

Ward actually dropped between 30 and 40 lbs from last year. He and Mays are both quick . They can rotate in a number of linemen during a game.  Wesley can get pressure from the front four which gives them good coverage.

It is really fun to see that there is an excitement in the air on the OAC board about a football game.  Wesley has a very good D as evidenced by the stats.  They play hard and can get after the QB with thier linemen.  The LB's a very quick and pretty big as are the safeties.  On offense the Line is solid and pretty big.  The running backs are very quick, yet smallish in size.  The TE is as good as anyone and they have a big time receiver, at least when it comes to catching TD's, he isnt much for going and getting it if he has to.  Can they win, of course they can.  They will have to play at their best which they have been in the playoffs, last weeks game not incluced due to the weather conditions.  The QB may be the difference in that he will run the ball and can make teams pay if they sell out on the rush, plus there are designed runs for him.  I personally think they run him too much, but that is my opinion.  He throws the ball OK, short passes better than long.  Special teams kickoff and punt coverage is very good, return game is OK, no beavers any more.  The place kicker has struggled this year and if the game is close, I am not sure if they try to kick a 35+ yard field goal if needed.  My concern will be coaching, can they do what is necessary to have the team prepared.  Hope so, just remember the 2 UWWW games and hope they dont lay an egg again.

Put up a podcast of today's Press Conference involving Mount Union Head Coach Larry Kehres on our WDEL website.  I believe you can download and/or listen to it from WDEL's podcast page or use this direct link to the file...

http://www.wdel.com/features/kehresmuc.mp3 (It's raw audio)

The video of my interview with Mike Drass will be up on the WDEL and Wesley websites once I get that chopped up.

I'm also interested in finding a good local place to eat while we're out there.  We've been doing the grand barbeque tour while in GA and SC for games this year, but I have to admit I don't know what the big Ohio thing is.
