Travel trailer?  Do you mean camper, or is this something you haul on the back of the Pinto that is usually used to haul stuff, and you are telling Kevin it's really "deluxe accomodations"?   ;D

Two days until "Wing Summit 2009".  Many D-III football, and talent observing issues will be discussed ad nauseum.

Saintsfan?  Does the ball and chain know you are heading this way?  Did you get a weekend hall pass?   ;)

Indeed, my friend.  She's cool..

Happy birthday 70's!  I feel much better now that you are once again older than I am.  ;D

Once again proving: The more you complain, the longer God makes you live. Anyway I've got a travel trailer to get ready to go to Virgina today.

Happy Birthday Seventies!

See you Saturday and maybe Friday....weather may play a part in that since I am in Geauga County the heart of our lovely snow belt. >:(

Seventies,

Might that trip to Virginia include the western part of the state at some
little town that we have all heard before? ;D

Interesting Weather in WI:

Maybe the weather WILL be a factor in this game. UWW Campus closed today. This from the UWW website:

"Governor Jim Doyle Wednesday morning announced the official closure of all state government and University of Wisconsin system campuses. All UW-Whitewater classes, day and night, are canceled.

The Governor's order states that employees should not report to work Wednesday unless their job duties include emergency response, public health or public safety."

Does potential impact of no football practice today constitute a "public health or public safety" issue for UWW faithful?

Or maybe the prospect of the Linfield Wildcats coming to town constitutes an "emergency"?

Of course, as AI would say, "We're talking about PRACTICE, man..."

Interesting that 2 of 3 choices are MUC grads- VK and Zebrowski and that all 3 have ties to Ohio with Waddle from Witt as the other candidate.

Thanks, JK.
I just voted for Vince, but Waddle is leading and Zebrowski is close second.  You can't go wrong with any of the picks.  All three have done a great job this year.

Yep, microwave, stove, frig and all in a space about as big as a walk in closet. But given the balmy southern weather the last few times I've been to Roanoke/Salem, it's just a place to get in out of the wind and cold. Getting too old to sleep in the back seat at rest stops.

Mt. Union Defensive Coordinator Vince Kehres Finalist for FootballScoop.com Coordinator of the Year
Wednesday, December 9th 2009 @ 3:58 PM    post viewed 13 times

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mount Union defensive coordinator Vince Kehres has been selected as a finalist for the FootballScoop.com NCAA Division III Coordinator of the Year Award powered by Muscle Milk.

Kehres enters his 10th year as an assistant football coach and fifth season as Mount Union's defensive coordinator.  His defense this season is NCAA Division III's No. 2 ranked total defense (193.77) and No. 1 in both scoring defense (7.69) and rushing defense (46.23).

A 1998 graduate of Mount Union, he was a four-year letterwinner (1994-97) at defensive end for the Purple Raiders, a member of two National Championship teams (1996 & 1997) and earned All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors during his senior year 1997.

During his playing career, Kehres totaled 62 hits and 12 tackles for loss, and he was a key member of the special teams unit. He was part of a 1997 defense that led all of Division III in fewest points allowed (5.6 ppg) and rushing defense (48.6 ypg) while posting five shutouts and setting a Raider single-season mark for sacks in a season (53 in 10 regular season games).

He and his wife, Lindsay, have two sons, Evan and Bo.

"The FootballScoop set of awards is unique from other "Coach of the Year" awards in that there is no other outlet that focuses on Position coaches and coordinators; whereas nearly every other "Coach of the Year" award is solely for a Head Coach. Additionally, to be considered for our awards, a coach has to have been nominated by one of his peers", said Scott Roussel, President of FootballScoop. Roussel added, "Over the past few years Muscle Milk® has become one of the most recognized names in sports nutrition and we're very proud to have them once again serve as the exclusive sponsor of these awards."

"We're thrilled to team with FootballScoop again this year in support of an award recognizing these coaches for all their hard work throughout the year", said Chris Kildow – Director of Sports Marketing for Muscle Milk®. "These awards are an extension of our overall commitment and support of College Athletics which allows us to acknowledge these great coaches."

From the hundreds of coaches that were nominated by their peers, finalists have been chosen for the 15 awards from the following areas: Offensive Coordinator, Defensive Coordinator, Special Teams Coordinator, Strength & Conditioning Coach, Director of Football Operations, Quarterbacks Coach, Running Backs Coach, Wide Receivers Coach, Offensive Line Coach, Defensive Line Coach, Linebackers Coach, Secondary Coach, Division 1-AA Coordinator, Division II Coordinator and Division III Coordinator of the Year.

The other finalists along with Kehres are UW-Whitewater offensive coordinator and Mount Union alum Jim Zebrowski along with Wittenberg defensive coordinator Andy Waddle.

Fans can vote To read about the finalists, and to vote, click here Vote for Football Scoop NCAA Division III Coordinator of the Year. Voting will take place through Sunday December 13th. Winners will be announced beginning on December 14th.

A panel of current and former coaches along with past recipients of the awards will evaluate the finalists will select the winners. Votes will be considered; however the Panel has final decision over the awards

wesleydad

ok mount guys, i posted my thoughts on what to expect from wesley, what can us wesley folk expect to see when we get to the game besides way too many purple people on the away team side of the field.  what kind of game will it be if wesley can get a push from the d line on both run and pass plays.  if wesley were to take one away, which would you suggest?  if wesley can rush for 100+ yards, will they control the game?

I will be meeting skunks and sidekick for breakfast, but would also like to stop by and visit some of the tailgates after we have our margaritas and eggs breakfast.  Last year when I visited I saw that the lot was pretty full, where is the best place to stop by for tailgating and where should we park when we get to the field?  We will have our own beverage of choice, likely a good microbrew beer and would like to meet some of you.  I am not sure how many Wesley folk are making the trip so we will be easy to find, wearing a lot of #13 stuff, me with the jersey on.  Let me know where to go for a good pregame chat about how Wesley is slay the giant. :D
