Raider 68

Apparently the D3 guys are dancing around trying to say in the most
articulate way that they "really" think Mount is not that good to get the
Stagg.

Their picks reflect Wesley scoring around 30 pts on the top defense
in the country (still playing). Witt gave up a few less yards per game.
They also indicate that that Mount can only score 27-30 with the highest
offense in the country. IMHO, they are hanging their hat on last weeks game. Rain or not Wesley scored "12" pts against JHU, that is only 12 last week.

No doubt is is possible that the Raiders could lose this semi final,
('94 Rowan, '04 UMHB). Why not just pick who you think will win, without
trying to say what you have said all year that Mount is not the number one team.  The percentage of sucess must be a new thing, at least I do not
remember it.

Wow, where's Carroll Streaks? Mount Union men's b-ball just knocked off #2 ranked JCU (and the Mount women are leading)

ADDED: Mount women beat JCU to go 7-0/3-0.

quit being arrogant....

Arrogant is a synonym for PROUD, and I am  :)

Did I mention Mount is receiving votes in the D3 wrestling voting too?

So, does listing facts make one proud/arrogant?

Exactly. A fact often dismissed, but an important one.

Not to mention, an in state tuition of about $7,000 per year (according to a college data website, correct me if I'm wrong).  OAC schools cost more than that per semester.

You're not comparing apples to apples.  You're comparing apples to chicken salad.

Couldn't have said it better.

reality check

Before everyone gets their purple panties in a wad, the Triple Take states scores and basically contradicts itself (in Ryan's and Keith's case at least) because they've picked Wesley to win and both stated by percentages that Wesley's odds of winning were less than 50%.  Keith and Ryan both stated clearly that they're in waffle-land with regards to this pick. They had to choose someone and they did.  Just the fact that they picked Wesley in close games yet stated Wesley had 35 to 45% chances of winning shows you that they might as well say, "I'm picking Wesley by 3 points (with a margin of error +/- 10 points)."

I wouldn't be surprised if MUC blows 'em out, wins by 1 or loses by 14.  All are conceivable this week.

I've got a bone to pick with the All-North region team.

Cory Dutcher is the Wable Award winner as the best OL in the OAC and he's completely left off the North region team?

Really???????????????????????

I have no beef with Benchic getting first team, but the guy wasn't even the "most outstanding lineman" in his own conference.

I know the region teams are voted on by position and Dutcher is a C and Benchic is a G, but with 3 center spots, you would think that the "MOST OUTSTANDING LINEMAN" in the OAC would be one of the three.

What happened Pat?  Did he get missed?  Or not nominated?  I can't imagine he wasn't as Ronnie Smith got Second team Defense, so somebody was paying attention to Capital players.

Cleveland Cartel

Cant wait for this game I believe tommorrow's game will be the first true test of MUC's playoff run. Maybe a close game will be a good thing for MUC and have them better prepared for any adversity in the National Championship game. It sounded like they won and fough through adversity with Capital in the regular season. There is a big difference between reg. season and playoffs. Good Luck to both teams, no injuries, clean game, and let the best team win!!!

GO BROWNIES!!!! 5 years in the making!!!! ITS good to be alive!!! for those of you who follow WKNR you know what I am talking about!!

I also see that Dee Brizollara of Chicago (a freshman) was left off as well.  He led the nation in the regular season in all purpose yards and had over 1000 yards recieving in 9 games and didn't start the first 2 games.  I don't think he is in the same class as Shorts at WR but his numbers are comparable to the other 5 that made 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams.    So if not at WR at least as a kick returner he deserveed mention on 2nd or 3rd team IMO.

Wow Keith.....I thought we had FINALLY cured you of the Mount hating!   ;)

I don't think last week has any bearing on the game this week.  Rocco started out poorly, but then completed like his next 15 or something in a row.  Keith I believe you commented that the game was "closer than the score indicated", but if you were at the game live and in person you would have known that just wasn't true.  Mount's line was blasting gaping holes in the Albright D, and they were absolutely no competition.

Does Wesley appear to have the athletes to compete with Mount in the semi's?  Yes.  Has Wesley also shown in previous years (this goes DIRECTLY to coaching) that they have a tendency to let down (huge understatement) in the semi's?  YES!

I believe this has the POTENTIAL to be a good, close game, but that is only if Wesley brings their "A" game.  Having watched Mount in the semi's for the last umpteen years, very rarely do they not bring their "A" game.  If both teams play well, Mount wins by 7-14 points.  If Mount doesn't bring their "A" game, it will be a dogfight to the wire.  If Wesley doesn't bring their "A" game, it's a three to four touchdown Mount win.

The evidence/history/coaches dictate it will go that way.

See some of you tonight.  D-III dudes.......stop by if you are getting to town tonight.

I couldn't agree more.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

My prediction for tomorrow MUC 44 Wesley 24. I believe the defense will put pressure on the Wesley QB forcing him to make to many mistakes Good Luck to both teams and let us pray for no injuries.

Skunk!  Go get our tickets!  Don't forget to stop into the Wing Warehouse and remind them we are coming.  And honey....can you pick up my dry cleaning on the way home?   ::)

One more thing.......you know how I HATE when you drink too much at parties....so please keep it down to about a 12-pack tonight ok?   ;)
