Their safety (6'3",215) is a transfer from Iowa....don't think he will be intimidated by "the machine" banner. :-[

he might forget that he transferred and wonder why he is chasing down Teddy Ginn in a purple jersey however....Cecil is going to have a huge day

LOL like that purplesuit! Made me bust out laughing as my son ran against Teddy Ginn in track on the relay team. I can still see my son chasing him and laughing about it afterwards! ;D worst yet , that Glenville relay team had two other boys that ran just as fast as Ginn.....sick! :o

allright, time to put it out there in public.  I have already chatted with some using PM with my thoughts, for whatever they are worth, so time to lay it out.  This Wesley team is better that any team I have seen in the last 5 years.  the defense is so much faster than they have been and it has made a huge difference.  They will get after it and must watch the personal fouls.  the d line is better than when Bryan Robinson played because there are more players that make plays.  Linebackers are fast and the d backs are quick and tough.  I think they will shut down the run and force mount to throw more than they want to eventhough some have suggested that mount likes to throw the ball more now.  On offense they have plenty of weapons and if the O line can hold their own against the mount front 4 then Wesley will move the ball and score points.  I have seen Mount play live the past couple of years and what I saw on the net against Cap is nothing close to what they have been the last couple of years.  So call me crazy or homer or an idiot, but I think Wesley wins this game, 31 - 21.  see you all there and hope for a great game.

You are basing your team's chances on seeing Mount play one game against Capital. A game that was a turning point in this season for the Raiders and when their QB Rocco has used that game to excel from the remander of the year. Check his stats and see what he has done for the year. He is at the top of the charts.

You sound like the D3 guys who base their prediction heavily on one game as well. Maybe Wesley will win, but for Mount to give up 31 pts, I do not think so. If your team could only score 12 pts against JHU with no sustained drives, how do you expect to get 19 more on the top defense in the country.

Everyone here at Mount expects a close game, but I do not follow your logic
to get to the 31-21 score in favor of Wesley. It will be interesting to hear
your comments if your prediction is reversed.

The game will be phyiscal and Wesley has more penalties/yards than Mount
who gets their fair share. We will just to wait and see!

pawesley, wesleydad and the rest of the Wesley fans :

I was in Alliance (2) weeks ago to watch Montclair play the Machine. It was a great experience, the MUC fans and alums were great. The machine dominated, we never gave up and it was a war even the score was not indicative. So far Montclair is the only eastern team to score (14) on the machine (this was done in the 1st half). I keep using the word the machine and they are that, But :

You guys have a real shot at them. Play Wesley football and you can do it. Don't be intimidated by them. I followed you guys in 2000 and 2001 and then became a Montclair wacko ever since. I think you are the next team to step up to the MUC and WWW level. Three years ago Wesley was the big stud and Montclair came to your place and came away with a win. You guys can do the same.

Play your game and don't be intimidated. Good Luck !!!!!!!!!!

raider68, yes i am basing my opinion on the one game i saw mount play and it may have been as you all seem to believe in another time and place from tomorrow.  I am basing my opinion on more than that.  i saw the 2 teams that mount played already in person and neither of them were very good when i saw them, so the fact that mount defeated them easily is no surprise to me.  I can surely say that i am likely the only person who has seen 5 teams that made the playoffs this year in person, except for someone who is associated with D3.  The fact that wesley only scored 12 points last week looks really bad until you take into consideration the weather conditions which were the worst i have ever watched a football game in.  they also missed 2 field goals so they had opportunities to score more and didnt.  none of that really matters, i think wesley will win this game and it is based on what i have seen them do this year moreso than on anything else.  one thing i have never been accused of is running from my opinion, so if wesley loses or gets trounced i will be on here when i return from alliance to congratulate the winners and add my observations.  the nice thing is is that i will get to spend time with my mount friends and see how it all plays out.  find me and say hi if you will be at the game, i will have the #13 jersey on.

The only substantiating fact I'll throw out there is that, Ohio Northern is by far a better team than any team Wesley has seen yet this year. That being said, I say Mount Union 48-14.

Kurt Rocco is on a plateau even the QB in second place can only dream of.

BTW I took part of FormerD3DB's advice and hung with the family tonight. Doubt anybody in my family seriously thinks I'm missing a Mount game. Got a bad back ya know

seventies, i like the confidence, 48 would be a real surprise since the most wesley has given up all year is 28.  see you at the game.

70's,,,,,  Wesley has the "potential" to play a great game against MUC  . The question is "will they live up to it"?.That has been a problem of many a good team coming into our house to play,,tomorrow we will see. The OC for Wesley is from your neighborhood , Chip Knapp Of Kent Roosevelt,,1982-83,,.Having seen Wesley 6 times this year,,I would say they have played against some good teams,,and they are very capable of playing at Mount's level,,

This game will depend on turnovers,,the run game ,,and some long passes for both teams,,depends on WHO makes them !!

Hey Mr. Feltersnatch, you know Helen Wate?

Maybe we can get some of what Keith is smoking. I think Olinemom is missing her special ingredients. 8)

And of course few of us thought Mount could put up a double nickel on the W&j defense, but........

Ran into an older gentleman tonight  while doing some shopping. Saw my MUC hoodie and said he was in Alliance earlier and watched the Wesley boys practice for 2 hours. He said they look tough, good, and ready to play. He said it will be a good game and the best team we have seen this year to date.

My $0.02: Wesley winning 14-10 at half. LK and Co. do their thing and MUC wins 42-20.

Wesley reminds me of Rowan circa 1993.  Huge, fast, strong, DI transfers...
