I know you are a stellar program MU with witch I hold in high regard and hope UMHB models, but I now look at you as I do the Yankees....I am a Red Sox fan.

I hope you play well enough to lose next week!  ;)

I root for the Indians and now Rays (moved from OH to FL) so I hate the Yankees AND the Red Sox!  :)

As long as the EGG is hard boiled/deviled egg, then sure, no prob!!

Hey, but really, I know you are a great squad and obviously are doing things right, so hopefully we'll get to meet again one day!
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

Rocca by rule can't return to the game if the drs. or trainers even think he had a concussion.

This is not even a factor. LK wants to win, but would not do so at the expense of the health of any of his players.

Rocco has had some issues with seizures and I think LK is smart in handling it the way he did. Had 2 good teams facing off against each other, both winners, one just outscored the other. Good luck to the losing team, you guys played a hell of a game. Congratulations to MU on another victory and special blessings & prayers for Rocco. See most of you in VA nest weekend, looking forward to meeting those I don't know.

Have a safe trip everyone and.............GOOOOO RAIDERS !!!

Here's hoping Rocco recovers well.  We'll keep him thought and prayer for that in hopes that he can return for the championship game.  The appropriate course and standard of care, of course, which Coach LK knows as I'm sure you all do, is that if Rocco has any residual symptoms at all (including even a minor headache) that don't clear after a couple of days, he should not return to play nor be allowed to, even if he wants to.  Again, hopefully, that will not be the situation.

Congratulations to Mount Union players, staff and you fans for their reaching the Stagg Bowl once again.  I don't doubt it will be an exciting championship game, even if it is MUC/Wis-W again for #5. :)

Great Vivtory for the Raiders! Such a hard fought game.Concerning Rocco, i have him in my prayers because if he does have seizures it is nothing to mess around with and i applaud Larry for not taking any chances on this young mans health.

Does anyone have any idea what was up with Millings not playing today?

I'm not saying that Rocco should have gone back in (or play next week) but I downloaded the 2009-10 NCAA College Football Rules and Interpretation Manual and there is not a specific rule about concussions.  The only thing in there about concussions is:

From the Point of Emphasis Section:
CONCUSSIONS: Coaches and medical personnel should exercise prudence in making return-to-play decisions when a student-athlete suffers a concussion.

The NFL has added rules on it this year, but I could not find anything other than that.  I searched for "Injury" also and found much on Injury Timeouts and Feigning Injury, but nothing on if/when an athlete should return to the game.

The old "Rule of Thumb" was to sit out the rest of that game and another week as well.

I don't think anyone was saying you were saying that (at least I wasn't  :). You're right there is no specific rule in the stipulated guidelines.  However, I will tell you that (and you know this as a coach) the "old rule of thumb" still applies.  You don't mess with head injuries and even small concussions.  Team docs and trainers don't take chances.  It has to be a "day by day" determination and there are, indeed, specific medical guidelines that are accepted as the "standard of care" for those regarding return to play - there are a couple but mostly the same and even some newer ones have just come out.  The bottom line is that if one didn't follow those fairly close and someone had an unfortunate outcome (can you say Liam Nissan's wife), then you can be assured there would be some big time lawsuits brought.  Bottom line is we don't take chances and as I said, it is best to determine the player's status on a day to day basis, which I'm sure the Mount Union medical and training staff and coaching staff will do.  Just some additional thoughts on this.

PA_weslyn and Ace both stated that it was a rule.  I just couldn't find a specific reference to it in the rulebook.  I guess I am just in the mood to argue today.  No harm done.

Just got back, and what a game today!  Mount showed a talented, determined defense and an offense that rose from adversity and asserted itself through the sheer force of will. This was not Mount Union Football at its prettiest, but it was Mount Union Football at its finest.   No matter what happens next week, these guys are champions in my book.
12-0 = 13
